Hello, what's up, and welcome to the Lite + Brite newsletter.

This is one of the best weekends of the year to be in Austin: it's the annual Austin Studio Tour! (Formerly known as EAST and still often referred to as EAST by us because we hate change!) Along with the 500+ Austin artists whose studios you can visit and work you can view and shop, the Austin Studio Tour brings with it tons of cool artsy events, including a "cottage core and gnome core" patio party, the grand opening of the Stuffed Animal Rescue Foundation, a weekend-long celebration of Latino arts, the Almost Real Things bus tour, a tree celebration, and honestly much more than we even had bandwidth to list. (We never said we were perfect.) In other Austin traditions, Creek Show starts this weekend! If you're looking for art stuff to do, this is your weekend to shine.

If you're not already a subscriber to this newsletter, click here. Also, please support us by forwarding this email to your friends who enjoy things like listening to music and leaving the house sometimes.

Let's do fun stuff!

DJ Stuff

Thanks to everyone who came out to this past week's No Lights No Lycra, our dance party in the dark! As always we had a blast, and NLNL will return in two weeks time. If you missed the show or if you feel like another listen we'll post a playlist of the songs that you can listen to below.

There are two remaining NLNL dates at West China Tea in 2021: November 23 and December 7. Mark them on your calendar now, and like NLNLATX on Facebook or Instagram for more updates.

In the online world, No Humans Allowed, Brian's weekly internet radio show on Kpiss.fm, had two episodes since last we spoke. This week was a reimagining of the Grand Theft Auto Vice City soundtrack, and last week featured a cavalcade of DUNE-centric vibes. Stream both from the Kpiss archives here.

How do we choose which events to feature?
Honestly, it's pretty random. We might include anything in Austin that we, personally, would conceivably want to go to, generally excluding normal concerts, comedy shows, and movie showtimes because there are many other good resources for finding those. (We especially recommend Showlist for live music, dance.atx for DJs, and 101+ Weird Austin Things to Do for exactly what it sounds like). This list is by no means exhaustive; it's just stuff that caught our eye this week. If you have an event that you want us to consider including, send it over.

Who are we?
We make this newsletter. We put on No Lights No Lycra each week. We do some other stuff here and there. We love going out to creative events in Austin, and we want you to join us. Visit us at liteandbriteatx.com.
SEE YOU NEXT WEEK, CHAMPIONS.
