Hello, what's up, and welcome to the Lite + Brite newsletter.

It might be in the 80s out there, but we’re deep in December and the holiday season. What holiday season you ask, dear reader? Is it Christmas? Krampus? Saturnalia? Halloween? Future Christmas? Cocoa and Goats-mas? (Might've made that last one up) The answer is: D, ALL OF THE ABOVE. If it can be remotely celebrated, the city of Austin is ready to celebrate it under the big ol' holiday umberella, and you should be too.

Whoever your holiday patron saint is, you can hang with them, be it Black Santa, Evil SantaJack Skellington, Dolly Parton, Your Own Dog (that you’ve Brought), or various Romans. See seasonal lights and decorations. Experience the holiday season in 2060 after the mega-tornadoes and tech bros have left. Partake in holiday puns. Buy a tree and do some holiday shopping while eating tacos. Do some holiday shopping while terrified. Do that but while also getting a chair massage. Or just go dancing somewhere. Austin is your oyster, people. If you, like 50% of Lite + Brite, chose to travel during the holidays, you’re just going to have to be sad at all the great stuff you are missing out on.

No Humans Allowed 083
Electronic Snow

Once was a time when you’d flick on a display with the flourish of a wrist and watch as the electrons lit up in a pattern of black and white: static, electronic snow, tv snow. Just as wintertime’s fat flakes would wash across one’s view, the little bursts of white light would do the same. So NHA has assembled a collection of tunes that evoke some wintry washes of electronic snow.

Follow Lite + Brite on Instagram to keep up with our adventures. The past week brought us to a robot at Sky Candy's holiday market, lots of art at Austin Studio Tour, and interactive tech-art at dadageek.
How do we choose which events to feature?
Honestly, it's pretty random. We might include anything in Austin that we, personally, would conceivably want to go to, generally excluding normal concerts, comedy shows, and movie showtimes because there are many other good resources for finding those. (We especially recommend Showlist for live music, dance.atx for DJs, and 101+ Weird Austin Things to Do for exactly what it sounds like). This list is by no means exhaustive; it's just stuff that caught our eye this week. If you have an event that you want us to consider including, send it over.

Who are we?
We make this newsletter. We put on No Lights No Lycra each week. We do some other stuff here and there. We love going out to creative events in Austin, and we want you to join us. Visit us at liteandbriteatx.com.
SEE YOU NEXT WEEK, CHAMPIONS.
