Hello, what's up, and welcome to the Lite + Brite newsletter.

Perhaps you have noticed that it's raining.

I (Leila) LOVE the rain, and rarely have I felt as invigorated by weather as I have these past few weeks. This my LITERAL DREAM. It is less the literal dream of event producers and venues, many of whom have canceled and rescheduled (sometimes more than once) to try to get a non-rainy date. Everything that we're listing here has not at present been canceled for rain, but you should double-check.

Assuming things go on as scheduled, this week will bring us lots of stellar Pride events, including a queer artist market, a party celebrating the Austin trans communityTheydies Night, and "the gayest little country dance party" in town. Expect lots more Pride celebrations in the weeks to come.

We've also got organized bike rides, including one just for women, culminating in a concert at a secret location, and the Black History Bike Ride (which I did last summer and cannot recommend highly enough). Or if you're an athlete but not the biking type of athlete, you can get swole with some poolside aerobics, croquet, or watching ballet outdoors. (That is how swole works, right?)

Let's do fun stuff!

What is No Lights No Lycra?
Austin's weekly judgment-free, substance-free, high-impact dance thing in the dark. We stream every Monday at 8pm CT. It's a DJ night that's not at the club, a workout that's not at the gym, a personal meditation that's anything but silent. Read more about us in the Austin Chronicle.

How do we choose which events to feature?
Honestly, it's pretty random. We might include anything in Austin that we, personally, would conceivably want to go to, generally excluding normal concerts, comedy shows, and movie showtimes because there are many other good resources for finding those. This list is by no means exhaustive; it's just stuff that caught our eye this week. If you have an event that you want us to consider including, send it over.

Who are we?
We make this newsletter. We put on No Lights No Lycra each week. We do some other stuff here and there. We love going out to creative events in Austin, and we want you to join us. Visit us at
