Hello, what's up, and welcome to the Lite + Brite newsletter.

There's a lot of partying to be done this week. We hope you napped. We've got a ballroom event feat. Britney Spears, Rihanna, Beyonce, and other diva-esque performances, an art party from the Art Island collective, our final dance party in the dark of 2021, and a Winter Formal from Austin's best new concert promotion team. We don't have dogs, but we're not so heartless as to dislike a party of pugs in ugly sweaters; and we are not big Black Flag fans, but we can't say we're not intrigued by a party with a "head shaving station" and "broken mirror selfies". These are all examples of parties. Pick your party poison.

Let's do fun stuff!

No Humans Allowed 082
Xenobots

This week, scientists studying tiny manmade robots based on frog cells discovered these tiny robots, called “xenobots,” could do something new. Not only could they swim around (they are “motile”) but by scooping up bundles of xenobot stem cells, they could actually self-replicate. I know it sounds crazy, but theoretical robotics is doing some crazy stuff here in 2021. Anyway, inspired by this strange development, No Humans Allowed put together a special show just for our tiny, replicating, Pac-Man shaped buddies. Every electronic squiggle and bump was designed to complement our tiny pals, so come and listen to the world of Xenobots.

How do we choose which events to feature?
Honestly, it's pretty random. We might include anything in Austin that we, personally, would conceivably want to go to, generally excluding normal concerts, comedy shows, and movie showtimes because there are many other good resources for finding those. (We especially recommend Showlist for live music, dance.atx for DJs, and 101+ Weird Austin Things to Do for exactly what it sounds like). This list is by no means exhaustive; it's just stuff that caught our eye this week. If you have an event that you want us to consider including, send it over.

Who are we?
We make this newsletter. We put on No Lights No Lycra each week. We do some other stuff here and there. We love going out to creative events in Austin, and we want you to join us. Visit us at liteandbriteatx.com.
SEE YOU NEXT WEEK, CHAMPIONS.
