State’s framework for the Orange Tier and the County’s Risk Reduction Order.

Dear members:

Good news!
The State of California announced today that the County of Santa Clara has met the requirements to move into the Orange Tier, effective Wednesday, March 24.

The announcement comes with the warning that though allowed, activities may remain high risk. Please stick to the protocols, which include mask-wearing, social-distancing, avoiding crowds, staying home if you feel achy or feverish, enjoying the outdoors and getting vaccinated when it's your turn.

All activities authorized under the State’s Orange Tier, including indoor dining, can resume in accordance with State capacity limits and safety protocols, including:
  • Indoor dining at maximum 50% capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer;
  • Retail stores indoors 100% capacity with modifications;
  • Gyms and fitness centers indoors at maximum 25% capacity, with indoor pools open;
  • Bars where no meal is provided, outdoors only;
  • Movie theaters at maximum 50% capacity or 200 people, whichever is fewer;
  • Family entertainment centers indoors at maximum 50% capacity with modifications for areas of increased risk of proximity;
  • Zoos, museums, and aquariums at 50% maximum indoor capacity; and
  • Places of Worship, 50% capacity.
  • Telework: Continue to have workers to do their jobs from home whenever possible. Workers can go into work to complete jobs they can’t complete from home.
