SGWHC Recap

November 2014

Executive Director, Jan Werbinski, spent time in November in Houston, Texas, spreading the word about SGWHC at the grass roots level.  Many Houstonians showed intense interest in our organization and its work. Presentation was given to the River Oaks Business Women’s Exchange Club (ROBWEC).  Word spread to other organizations, and, with generous support from Dan Kroll of Wells Fargo Advisors, we gave presentations to interested women business leaders at a lovely brunch. Dan has graciously offered to fund additional presentations in January 2015, so Jan will be returning to Houston with Dr. Marjorie Jenkins of the Laura Bush Institute of Women’s Health to present to other interested groups.

SGWHC’s poster presentation was accepted for the 23th Annual Congress of Women’s Health, to be held April 16-19 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, DC. so stop by to play our “Wheel of Differences” game and test your knowledge of sex and gender differences.

Speaking of poster presentations, don’t forget that the American Medical Women’s Association is celebrating their 100th Centennial Year at their annual conference next April 23-26 at the Palmer House in Chicago.  AMWA was the first founder of our women’s health education project.  SGWHC will be hosting an exhibit table at the Centennial celebration!

Happy Holiday season to all!
