Our K-6 students develop an ability to think critically about topics and issues that impact their lives, their community, and our world. Our students build safe, caring relationships that support them on their path to becoming kind and resilient humans.

Foothills students learn how to take care of themselves and each other. We offer mindfulness classes and a social-emotional program that supports students in strengthening relationships, managing emotions and stress, and feeling more joy.

In addition to their classroom teachers who teach math, literacy, science, PE, and other subjects, our students also spend time weekly with specialist teachers in visual arts, performing arts, music, and Spanish.

With small classes and low student-to-teacher ratios, our K-6th graders develop strong, meaningful relationships with their teachers and classmates. Knowing our students well allows our teachers to personalize a student's learning experience.

Our students get to enjoy regular field trips and experiential learning that allows them to get out into the community to learn through real-world projects. These projects often take our students out into the larger Boise community, which our students love!

At Foothills, we support students as they become creative self-directed learners and leaders who want to make a positive difference in the world. We encourage students to ask and explore hard questions, which empowers them as learners.

We strive to create a strong sense of belonging in our community, where students know that their voices matter, and this instills a strong sense of confidence. Students have lots of opportunities to discuss, perform, present, and cheer each other on!
