That Could Be Me
We know that girls lack a diverse set of role models, which is why SGS is dedicated to bringing in women across sectors who are leaders and innovators in their field to inspire our students. We want to give each girl the opportunity to think "that could be me."
This year alone we've welcomed activists like Patrisse Cullors and Nikkita Oliver. Our 8th graders are gearing up to meet with women business owners for our Entrepreneur Day field trip. And all of our students have welcomed Judge Gaines-Phelps and Justice Mary Yu, inspiring our future generation of elected officials and legal professionals.
On May 15th, we will host our biggest celebration of women's leadership all year—The Annual Luncheon. For fifteen years we have honored women leaders in the Northwest who are scientists, musicians, artists, and leaders in business. What did all these women have in common? Every single one looked at our students and told them "this will be you." And we could not agree with them more.
This year we will honor Dr. Karina Walters and hear from our guest speaker, Melinda Gates. We hope you will join our entire student body for this inspirational event, which raises funds for mission-critical programs like Need Based Financial Aid and our STEAM Curriculum. You can learn more and rsvp here.
