This quarters successful clients,
Barbara Angelo and Butch Blawd

I’ve been working with Barb and Butch for 10 delightful years now! They are truly one of the best examples of great life and money choices I’ve seen. Barbara worked for over 10 years as an occupational therapist for the VA , a demanding job she loved. The work of helping our Veterans return to civilian life is no easy thing, but so rewarding. She wisely chose work she loved for which she was well suited. Her husband, Butch retired back in 2010 from a fun career in engineering and drafting. These two have carefully and so wisely crafted each step towards financial independence! First off, they got the house updated beautifully so it’ll be comfortable and easy to take care for many years. To do this we evaluated each of the financing options and found a great combination of tools that means the house gets paid for in just a few years. The next step was to carefully evaluate the income streams, social security options, and check them twice. It took a couple of years, but finally, the numbers looked great, and last October, Barbara officially celebrated independence. It was a blast to do the party - you can see how beautiful the tiara looks in the picture below! The amazing thing I have to add is that the whole time they were working on the house, saving for financial independence, they also found the funds to create beautiful experiences - trips to Peru, Egypt, and many others. Thanks guys for the beautiful opportunity to serve, and for being such an outstanding example of using money wisely!

It’s a New Year!

As it turns out, our economy is pulling out of the doldrums, and we actually had the best growth rate in 2 years! What a great way to start the New Year. It’s still slow, but now, at long last, wages are beginning to increase. Finally companies have to pay more to keep people, and that’s the missing component needed for the next step in growth! People deserve to be paid for their efforts fairly, and it benefits all when this is happening. I’m thrilled. While many of the jobs that kept our manufacturing sector humming have left for overseas, opportunity isn’t gone! The needs of businesses have changed, and we have exciting opportunities for those willing to learn and try new things.

Consumer tip:  A step beyond the do not call list

Ever gotten one of those annoying robo calls?? A voice comes on and informs you that this is your last opportunity to lower your credit card interest rate. It’s annoying, and in my opinion, an invasion of privacy! If you press one to ask to be removed from the list, they disconnect your call and don’t do it. A better trick - call each credit card company you have a card with and request to opt out of any marketing you can. I’ve done it, and it’s made a huge difference! Apparently all the card companies get together, and hire this outfit to mass dial, even if you don’t have a balance!
A Calendar full of fun, worthwhile events for you!
As many of you know, I’m big into having a voice on where my money goes, and that means great causes!!!
I have 3 great events with great causes I’d like you to know about - please let me know if you'd like to plan to go!
The Animal Humane Society has 2 really cool events coming up - the Annual Whisker Whirl on February 25, 2017, and of course the Animal walk in early May (I’m definitely doing the walk this year).

The Depot - 6pm on April 22nd.
