March News

from Catherine Chambers Physiotherapy and Pilates
Can you believe it's already March? With the year flying by, don't forget to pay attention to your body. Stop and take a minute to focus on your breathing, your posture and how your body is feeling.

"More and more, scientists are realizing that different systems in the body interact with one another to cause and perpetuate pain. One such interaction occurs between the nervous system and the immune system." Read more about how the Immune System influences Chronic Pain here:
Pregnancy and Pilates
Our classes are designed to keep expecting moms active and fit through all stages of pregnancy, providing a safe and low-impact full-body workout. We show moms-to-be how to strengthen and tone key muscle groups while preparing the body for labour, delivery and recovery.
What have our clients been up to?
Trilbi and her fiancé recently went Skiing & Snowboarding. Here is a lovely snap shot of the two of them on top of the mountain; looks like such fun!

Did you know? The word 'Ski' comes from the Norwegian word 'skíð' which means "split piece of wood."
Movement for health

Congratulations to everyone that partook in sporting events such as The Argus and The Cape Epic during this month! Give your body a treat and consider booking yourself in for a well-deserved Physio session or sports massage, to ease those muscles after the hard training.

To those of you who are gearing up for the Two Oceans Marathon in April; keep up the good miles! We are here for you, to offer any preventative advice and to help prepare the body for race day.

Friday the 8th March was International Women's day. "Here's to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them." - Unknown.
Happy belated Women's Day!

Wednesday the 20th March was the International Day of Happiness!
“For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Testimonial from a Physio & Pilates client

“In 2008…" "…off I went to Panorama Hospital for surgery. My wife and I have a small cottage just down the hill from Catherine Chambers Physiotherapy. Because of the convenience and the wonderful reputation, I hobbled into their beautiful new building. I was greeted warmly and professionally by the smiling staff member behind the counter. It's now 2019..." "…I'm now 68 and a very active retired Physical Education teacher, (who, of course, knows everything about his body) currently hiking the Appalachian Trail in America. My goal to finish the 2,200 miles was beginning to look impossible to me, as my body and spirit were failing me…”
"...I now have a completely different mental and physical approach to my personal health." "... Thank you so very much, Catherine, for maintaining your high standards and thank you, Genevieve, for your excellent care."

“Get out from your house, from your cave, from your car, from the place you feel safe, from the place that you are. Get out and go running, go funning, go wild, get out from your head and get growing, dear child.”
