Liebe StaWis,
Liebe Newsletter Leser*innen,

hoffentlich seid ihr alle wieder mit neuer Energie in die Präsenzlehre gestartet. Und auch wenn die Klausuren und Abgaben nun viel zu schnell viel zu nah kommen - lasst euch die Laune nicht verderben! Selbst die Prüfungsphase geht irgendwann vorüber und sich zwischendurch mal eine Pause zu gönnen ist wichtig! Also nehmt euch ab und zu auch Zeit für euch oder unternehmt etwas Schönes mit euren Freunden. 

Falls ihr Probleme an der Uni oder mit euren Profs habt, könnt ihr euch jederzeit bei uns melden. Wir haben jetzt auch einen Kummerkasten auf Instagram eingerichtet. Schaut dafür einfach in unsere Highlights. 

Für alle IB-Erstis könnte es außerdem interessant sein, am Donnerstag um 16 Uhr mal einen Abstecher in den Hörsaal 2 im KIZ zu machen. Dort erzählen Herr Prof. Kessler und Frau Prof. Hoffmann einiges über das Studium der Internationalen Beziehungen in Erfurt und was euch nach dem Bachelor erwarten könnte. Da der Schwerpunkt des ersten Semester noch nicht so sehr auf den IB liegt, motiviert diese Veranstaltung durchzuhalten und ist zudem eine super Gelegenheit Fragen zu stellen. Lasst euch diese Möglichkeit nicht entgehen!

Hopefully, you have all started your in person classes with renewed energy. And even if the exams and submissions are coming up far too quickly - don't let that dampen your spirits! Even the exam phase will pass at some point and it's important to take a break in between! So take some time for yourself now and then or do something nice with your friends. 

If you have problems at the university or with your professors, you can always contact us. We have also set up a tool on Instagram, where you can contact us anytime with anything. Just check out our highlights. 

For all IB first-timers, it might also be interesting to take a detour to lecture hall 2 in the KIZ on Thursday at 4 pm. There, Prof. Kessler and Prof. Hoffmann will talk about the International Relations programme in Erfurt and what you can expect after your Bachelor's degree. Since the focus of the first semester is not yet so much on the IR, this event motivates you to persevere and is also a great opportunity to ask questions.

Politische Prozesse moderieren: Moderationstraining für politisch schwierige Zeiten am 03. - 05.03.2023 in Bonn
In der Meinung scharf zu sein, aber die Person, die sie äußert, in ihrer Würde zu respektieren, ist die Grundlage jeder zivilen Debatte und Voraussetzung für jede Meinungsbildung in einer pluralen Gesellschaft. Immer häufiger sehen sich Moderator:innen aber der Schwierigkeit gegenüber, dass Debatten von rechtsgerichteten Teilnehmenden, Verschwörungsgläubigen oder Endzeitprophet*innen dominiert und gekapert werden. Wie umgehen mit menschenverachtenden Aussagen, wie Grenzen setzen und Grenzüberschreitungen begegnen?

In diesem Training werden nicht nur die Grundlagen guter Moderation (Diskussionsleitung, Fragen- und Visualisierungstechniken, Auswertungs- und Feedbackkompetenz) vermittelt und geübt, sondern es werden  sich gerade auch die Herausforderungen schwieriger Gesprächssituationen und den Umgang mit Konflikten angeschaut. Es geht um das Erproben von Interventionstechniken und Strategien des Umgangs mit rechtspopulistischen und rassistischen Äußerungen auf situativer Ebene und den Gewinn einer individuellen Handlungssicherheit in Konfliktsituationen.

Teamer*in für politische Bildungsarbeit in Thüringen werden
Das NDC Thüringen ist ein Träger politischer Bildungsarbeit und organisiert Projekttage zu Themen wie Rassismus, Klassismus, menschenverachtende Einstellungen, Normalität, Teamarbeit, Individualität und vielen mehr in Thüringer Bildungseinrichtungen. Diese Projekttage werden von freiwillig engagierten, jungen Erwachsenen umgesetzt, die vorrangig aus Studienkontexten kommen und neben dem Einsatz für demokratische Werte lernen wollen, wie politische Bildungsarbeit funktioniert. Aufruf zum 12. Europäischen Essaywettbewerb
Der Wettbewerb richtet sich an Hochschulstudent*innen und Doktoranden. Das Thema lautet "Wie verändert der russische Krieg gegen die Ukraine meine Welt?" Die Siegerbeiträge werden mit  dem Preis 500€, 300€ bzw. 200€ prämiert.   Weiter Infos findet ihr auf Moodle.

Studieren an der Andrássy Universität Budapest
Die Andrássy Universität Budapest ist die einzige deutschsprachige Universität außerhalb des deutschen Sprachraums. Neben einem einzigartigen Betreuungsverhältnis (ca: 7 Studierende auf einen Dozenten) bietet die Universität auch eine breite Reihe an Studiengängen die für Bachelorabsolventen der Staatswissenschaften (aller Kombinationen) und Internationalen Beziehungen interessant sind.

Webinare rund um Geld und Finanzen
Die Deutsche Bildung, ein Social Business für Studienfinanzierung, bietet im Rahmen der "Deutsche Bildung Academy" eine Reihe von Webinaren zu den Themen Geld und Finanzen an, welche für Student*innen aller Hochschulen geöffnet sind. Um die Wissenslücke in diesen Bereichen zu schließen, werden folgende Termine angeboten:

Online-Veranstaltung "Paroli den Parolen! Argumentationstraining gegen Vorurteile & Populismus"
Das Ziel der Online-Veranstaltung ist es, mit Hilfe eines Online-Trainings zu erlernen, wie man auf diskriminierende und sachlich falsche Parolen reagieren kann. Dabei ist das Training im Rollenspiel handlungs- und praxisorientiert und unter Einbezug von Beispielen aus der eigenen Erfahrungswelt. Gemeinsam werden Argumentationsstrategien entwickelt, die die Auseinandersetzung mit unerwarteten Äußerungen im Alltag erleichtern und es ermöglichen, in Zeiten von Populismus und Fake News die eigene Meinung zu vertreten. Die Teilnahme am gesamten Programm ist verbindlich mit Erhalt der Anmeldungsbestätigung. Campus Scout
Campus Scout ist ein Netzwerk für Personal-, Produkt- und Schulmarketing sowie Ambient Media – an Hochschulen in Deutschland, den Niederlanden, Österreich und der Schweiz.
Aufgaben: Auslage von Hochschulmagazinen und Infos für Student*innen (Flyer, Postkarten etc.), Pflege der Auslagestellen, d.h. ordnen von Zeitschriftenstapeln, Entsorgung alter Materialien usw., Plakate aufhängen, Flyer verteilen
Mitarbeit: freie Zeiteinteilung, Vergütung und Abrechnung nach Auftrag, 10-15 Euro/Std. je nach Auftrag, Arbeitszeitaufwand individuell gestaltbar: zumeist bei etwa 5 Stunden pro Woche; Es geht auch weniger oder mehr.

Praktikum Kulturelle Bildung bei der PwC-Stiftung

Das Programm umfasst eine mindestens dreimonatige Projektphase in Deutschland und Ländern Afrikas, Asiens, Lateinamerikas und Südosteuropas sowie Seminare zur Vor- und Nachbereitung. Für die Teilnahme vergibt Engagement Global im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung jährlich 280 Stipendien.

Praktikum und/oder soziales Engagement in der Flüchtlingssozialarbeit
Du möchtest Erfahrungen in der praktischen Flüchtlingssozialarbeit (Betreuung und Beratung) sammeln? Du interessierst dich für interkulturellen Austausch und Begegnung? Dann bewirb dich für ein Praxissemester/ Pflichtpraktikum/ Ferienpraktikum/ studienbegleitendes freiwilliges Praktikum oder ein ehrenamtliches Engagement im Team der Sozialen Betreuung einer Gemeinschaftsunterkunft für Asylsuchende und Geflüchtete in Erfurt. 
Die Aufgabenfelder umfassen unter anderem Hilfestellung bei Integration in das soziokulturelle Leben der Stadt, Förderung der Eigenverantwortung der Bewohner und Aktivierung von Ressourcen, sowie Begleitung und Unterstützung bei Behördengängen, Wohnungssuchen etc. 
Mitbringen solltest du eine ausgeprägte soziale und interkulturelle Kompetenz, Kommunikationsstärke, Belastbarkeit, Durchsetzungsvermögen und lösungsorientierte Handlungskompetenz.

Doctoral Program in economics 
Die Ruhr-Universität Bochum, die TU Dortmund und die Universität Duisburg-Essen bieten gemeinsam mit dem RWI - Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung Doktorandenstellen in den Wirtschaftswissenschaften in zwei strukturierten Promotionsprogrammen an, der Ruhr Graduate School in Economics (RGS Econ) und dem DFG-geförderten Graduiertenkolleg (RTG 2484) - Regionale Disparitäten & Wirtschaftspolitik.
Bewerber können sich für beide Programme bewerben. Während die RGS Econ ein allgemeines Programm mit fortgeschrittenen Kernkursen in allen Bereichen der Wirtschaftswissenschaften im ersten Jahr anbietet, ist das Qualifikations- und Kursprogramm des Graduiertenkollegs von Anfang an auf sein Forschungsgebiet zugeschnitten.

Online event "Paroli den Parolen! Argumentation training against prejudice & Populismus"
The aim of the online event is to learn how to respond to discriminatory and factually incorrect slogans with the help of online training. The training is action- and practice-oriented and includes examples from the participants' own world of experience. Together, participants develop argumentation strategies that make it easier to deal with unexpected statements in everyday life and enable them to defend their own opinions in times of populism and fake news. Roman Herzog Research Award Social Market Economy 2023
Every year, the Roman Herzog Institute awards the Roman Herzog Research Prize Social Market Economy, which is endowed with a total of 35,000 €. The prize is awarded to three young academics from all disciplines whose dissertations or post-doctoral theses deal with the further development of the social market economy and questions of regulatory policy for the future.
The submitted research papers should present a well-founded analysis of the currently relevant regulatory policy issues. The practicability and practical relevance of the research results are of great importance. Self-applications as well as proposals from faculties and institutes are possible. Contributions from all disciplines are welcome.

The ASA programme is a development exchange and scholarship programme for young people who want to work for a just world - feminist, global and sustainable. It includes a project phase of at least three months in Germany and countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Southeast Europe, as well as seminars for preparation and follow-up. Engagement Global, on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, awards 280 scholarships annually for participation. Internship in the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior and Local Government / Crisis Management Unit 
The Thuringian Ministry of the Interior and Local Government offers internships in the area of the crisis management staff unit, which is assigned to the police department, from 1 January 2023. 
The staff unit coordinates crisis management in the Ministry of the Interior and is the contact for the crisis units of the other departments. In particular, the staff unit is also responsible for taking over the preparations in the event that the crisis unit of the state government is called upon. Furthermore, it accompanies issues of critical infrastructure protection. At present, our activities are focused in particular on preparing for a possible energy shortage. A gas or electricity shortage would probably also very quickly have an impact on the usual communication media, so this is a very broad field with many interesting aspects to work on.

• Current Bachelor's/Master's degree in a political science subject area (law, social sciences and/or economics), a focus in the field of law is advantageous but not decisive
