EUROPERIO10 NEWS

CONGRESS OPENS IN ONE WEEK
The long-awaited EuroPerio10 congress starts on Wednesday, June 15 at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, with the main scientific programme featuring 130 top speakers from 30 countries sharing their expertise in 41 different sessions. Three live surgeries, the "world premiere" of the EFP's clinical practice guideline on treating stage IV periodontitis, a focus on sustainability... and much more. All registered participants receive access to the live streaming of all sessions in the main programme and three months on-demand access. There is still time to register to attend EuroPerio10 both in person and virtually. Just before the congress kicks off, there will be a press presentation, featuring EFP president Andreas Stavropoulos and members of the EuroPerio10 organising committee, which will be screened live on the EFP's YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram channels.

EUROPERIO10 IS FOCUS OF FIRST EFP PODCAST
The EFP has launched monthly podcasts under the Perio Talks brand. The first podcast focuses on EuroPerio10, with Bruno de Carvalho (who will be the regular Perio Talks host) discussing the congress with organisers Phoebus Madianos (chair), David Herrera (scientific chair), and Nicola West (treasurer and EFP secretary general). Perio Talks podcasts are available on the Spotify and Apple Podcasts platforms.

USE EUROPERIO10 APP TO NAVIGATE THE CONGRESS
The EuroPerio10 congress app is now available to be downloaded. The app includes:
  • the full scientific programme including the different session types and "tracks";
  • details of speakers, ePoster presentations, and networking events;
  • information about sponsors, sponsor sessions, and exhibitors;
  • an interactive area for asking questions, voting during certain sessions and in the EuroPerio10 photo contest, chatting with other participants, and posting on the congress's "social wall".
The EuroPerio10 app is accessed via the EFP app, which offers access to the latest news from the federation along with its publications and campaigns.

SUSTAINABILITY IS KEY PART OF EUROPERIO10
The EFP has made sustainability a key part of its mission and this will be shown at EuroPerio10, planned as one of the world's most sustainable congresses. Steps have been taken to reduce CO2 emissions and printed materials, and to source food locally.  Sustainability will be in the spotlight on the opening day, when the keynote speech will be given by Professor Katherine Richardson Christensen, who was chair of the Danish commission on climate change policy and is professor of biological oceanography at the University of Copenhagen and leader of the university’s Sustainability Science Centre.

GUM HEALTH DAY 2022 SUCCESS
Positive feedback from EFP national societies and members of the public, success in reaching people most at risk of periodontal disease, a content-generating tool that can be used in future campaigns, and a clear message about the problem of unequal access to oral-health care. These were the key results from Gum Health Day 2022, according to the campaign’s co-ordinator Moritz Kebschull. "We got a lot of feedback that was positive and what is clear is that this content generator is not a one-off, but something that we can use again," he said.
