ANDREAS STAVROPOULOS IS NEW EFP PRESIDENT
“Together we are stronger”, is the slogan of new EFP president Andreas Stavropoulos. In a message to members of the EFP's affiliated national societies of periodontology, Prof. Stavropoulos writes: “We should not let minor differences and special interests divide us – we should stay united and continue jointly working for the pan-European recognition of periodontology as a dental speciality, for the benefit of patients.”

SPYROS VASSILOPOULOS IS NEW ELECTED MEMBER
The EFP general assembly, held in Vienna on March 26, elected Spyros Vassilopoulos (Greece) as the new elected member of the federation’s executive committee. Dr Vassilopoulos, who has served on the organising committees of EuroPerio9 and EuroPerio10, joins the “presidential ladder” and will become EFP president for 2025-26. READ MORE
EFP HOLDS GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN VIENNA

CHAPPLE, TENNENBAUM, AND MEYLE RECEIVE AWARDS
At the general assembly in Vienna, the EFP's Eminence in Periodontology Award was given to Iain Chapple (UK), its Distinguished Scientist Award to Henri Tenenbaum (France), and its Distinguished Service Award to Joerg Meyle. READ MORE
POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH PRIZES: Four prizes for postgraduate research by students of the EFP-accredited postgraduate programmes were announced at the EFP general assembly.
NEW CHAIR FOR COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE: Bettina Dannewitz (Germany) has become the new chair of the EFP communications committee, succeeding Tiernan O’Brien (Ireland) who had chaired the committee since 2016.
