WLT Annual Meeting
Thanks to those who attended our Annual Meeting and Program - we were pleased to see so many friends and supporters in attendance! During the business portion of the meeting, we summarized last year’s activities in land acquisition and stewardship, finance, outreach and development, and governance. We elected a new Director, reelected Directors whose terms were up for renewal, and provided a brief outline of what we hope to accomplish in 2018. Following the business meeting, Town Historian Ellen Paul provided an engrossing and engaging presentation about the Willis Tanner Farmland Preserve and its namesake, who served as Warren’s First Selectman for an astonishing 31 years, from 1948-1979. Her stories and slides provided a fascinating snapshot of a man dedicated to his community, and of Warren in that era. Meeting attendees then reconvened on Above All Road to walk the perimeter of the preserve, which is a pastoral open space at one of the highest points in town.
