This week's 'Thought for St James'
All things work together for good…

And we know that all things work together for good, to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

It seems a long time ago now when this verse became for us words to hold onto. Times were tough, we had to hold fast to this truth. And today, in these strangest of times, these words must be comforting many.

And we know that…

Is this true for you? (Believer, you won’t need to pray for this knowledge – it will arrive as a consequence of your faith!)
all things work together for good, …

You may need to wait a while to see this yourself, but you still have to believe it.
to those who love God, …

We’re not talking warm fuzzy feelings here, it’s about setting Him above everything.
to those who are called…

That’s you and me, everyone who has decided to follow Jesus.
according to His purpose.

Do you still think He tells you what this is before you commit? (Breaking News! – no He doesn’t!). Faith is about trusting in God even if you haven’t got a clue why things are happening.

Just like today.
