Practice Notes

21 April 2020
Kia ora <<First Name>>,

Welcome to Practice Notes—a weekly update while we are working from home.

Next week, New Zealand moves from level 4 to level 3. That’s progress. At The Training Practice we’re learning, carrying on, and here to help.

We can deliver all our services online. Consulting, learning, and coaching can happen anywhere. Our website lets you know how we can help you. We look forward to hearing from you and joining us for Tea & Toast on Friday, online of course.

Ngā mihi,
The Training Practice team - Hilary, Kristen, Dinah, and Jackson

This week's Tea & Toast Online: Build an agile mindset

Join us to hear Hilary's latest ideas on why an agile mindset is essential. Even before Covid-19, we needed to be agile. And to be agile, you need to think agile. Hilary will outline what this means and why it’s vital.

We'll be live on Zoom with Hilary Bryan at 8am this Friday, 24 April.

Our fresh approach to business agility

We’ve launched our new approach to business agility: learning, consultancy and coaching.

We’ve created six business agility domains: mindset, strategy, leadership, teams, innovation and people. Each one is broken down into elements, with outcomes, progress indicators, and a detailed bibliography.

Why fresh? Our starting point is the whole organisation. From there, we've weaved together agile ideas from all over. We're not slavishly following one method or approach—we’re agile agnostic. We're not prescriptive; instead we're breathing life into business agility from a whole business viewpoint. After all, agility is a means to an end—how to thrive in a complex and ever-changing environment. It's not an end in itself.

Our approach to agile is to partner with you, customise, and stay flexible. You decide and we respond. After all, that's agile.

Get in touch to talk through how we can partner with you to build agility with you and your team and organisation.

What's hot this week

Need coaching?
Great coaching gives you fresh insights, offers support, and gives you new challenges. We’re here to coach you or your team members. We’ve often coached remotely in the past, so the present situation means it’s business as usual. We've created some coaching questions you can use with your team.

Know your strengths?
We’re finding teams really benefit from our strengths workshops—and they enjoy them! Focusing on your own and team strengths is positive, productive, and powerful.

We’re successfully delivering workshops remotely. They’re engaging and practical; people can put what they’ve learned into practice immediately.
