Leading Breeder 2017 - 1st & 2nd March 2017

The 2017 Leading Breeder conference will be held at the Best Western Airport Motel & Convention Centre, Melbourne VIC. A dinner will be held on the Wednesday evening with guest speaker Kevin McDermott, presenting on the sheep industry and genetic evaluation in Ireland.

This year the sessions will be based on the theme Building on the Best - Improving Rates of Genetic Gain. With four key sessions building on the main theme:
1. Improving rates of genetic gain through Sheep Genetics
2. Improving rates of genetic gain through Value Chain Initiatives
3. Improving rates of genetic gain through Genomics and New Technologies
4. Improving rates of genetic gain through Business Development

Registrations and payments for the conference and dinner can be made online on the link below. The cost of tickets are $110 per person for the conference and $66 per person for dinner.

Other Events

Throughout the year staff will be attending various events, where it may be possible to catch up and discuss issues affecting your flock. If you would like to catch up, please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a time.
  • 9th and 10th March - Caris will be attending Wagin Woolarama
  • 20th and 21st March  - Caris will be attending Burra Field Days
Other events will be listed closer to their date.

Regional Forums 2017

The 2017 Regional Forums will be held across Australia commencing in May, these are a great way to catch up with Sheep Genetics staff and find out ways to make use of ASBVs in your ram breeding operation.

Regional forums are at a cost of $33.00 per ram breeding business and include morning tea and lunch.

Dates are:

  • 16/05/17 - Inverell NSW
  • 23/05/17 - Cowra NSW
  • 30/05/17 - Ballarat VIC
  • 06/06/17 - Burra SA
  • 15/06/17 - Brookton WA

Please note these dates, and further information will be sent out closer to the date.
