Man's best friend - a heart rending account

Those who were able to come to The Swan on Tuesday (14 October 2014) heard an emotional story of how the life of Hounds for Heroes founder, Allen Parton, was inspired to found the charity that trains assistance dogs to help those injured in both civilian and military services.

Sheila and Len (pictured) from Hounds for Heroes gave a graphic account of how Allen Parton, severely injured in an accident in the Gulf war, had his life destroyed until the actions of a dog at Canine Partners intuitively sensing his need persevered in gaining his attention and led to a turnaround in his life.

The full story is contained in the book by Allen and his wife entitled 'Endal'.
