Note From Kendra

In the month of February, I always write about heart-centering love. In March, I feel an expanded sense of gratitude for being alive. It is the month God graced my spirit with birth on this planet, which inspires me to reflect on what I have been up to in the last year. And so in March, alas I like to share my personal reflection.
What is the theme I have been living the past year? I knew early in 2014 that it would be full of intense and purposeful healing, a rising from the ashes. I intentionally placed myself in situations that would allow for grace, compassion, healing, and authentic expression of my truest self to occur. I’ve had experiences that have stretched me far and wide and yet enveloped me in God’s light.  As a result, I have come to know my great Divine Mother, Earth, more deeply during this time of ascension.
I recently spent a week in a most extraordinary space of love and compassion with an extraordinary group of people. We have been studying together for the past year. Heart Island’s (South America) indigenous cosmologies, earth-honoring ceremonies, and time-proven ‘medicine’ practices are what we engaged in. We practiced an evolutionary path of healing grace for the world, in short - Universal Shamanism. This course, as well as all the experiences I engaged in this last year, has profoundly changed my life.
This type of work, like any work that will help to create sustainable empowerment and significant shifts, happens when you allow yourself to show up fearlessly to whatever is calling you. Jump with both feet in, open to anything and everything for yourself. That leap is where the shift begins.
When you show up, you gift yourself and the planet with an open heart to serve. You use your gifts that God gave you as you first appeared on your birthday. So if you are wondering, “What is my purpose?” listen to the recording I created for you under this month’s Inspiration and give us all a gift by simply showing up!

Happy Birthday!
With deep love and gratitude for all of life,

The Gossip archetype is associated with rumor-spreading, backbiting, and passing along information that is exaggerated and harmful and intended to disempower. On a professional level the shadow Gossip manifests as publishing misleading information, creating damaging rumors, or hounding celebrities for their photos. Although everyone is prone to listening to and spreading gossip in some way, a Gossip archetype thrives on the power that is generated by passing around information that is secret or private. Most people would hesitate to choose this archetype because of its negative implications, yet many others make their living in the business of political, social, and entertainment gossip in a positive way. The archetype is connected to lessons of truth, integrity, and honoring the trust another has placed in you.
In assessing your connection to the Gossip, review how many of your life lessons have emerged from participating in gossip that has harmed another and then coping with the consequences. Do you measure the quality of a relationship by whether a person is willing to share secrets with you?
Films: Rosalind Russell in The Women; Richard Hayden in Sitting Pretty; Burt Lancaster in The Sweet Smell of Success; John Malkovich and Glenn Close in Dangerous Liaisons.
Religion/Myth: Ratatosk (in Norse myth, a squirrel whose name means “swift teeth,” lives in the World Tree called Yggdrasil, and is a notorious gossip).

The Labyrinth

A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering but purposeful path. The Labyrinth represents a journey to our own center and back again out into the world. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools.

A labyrinth is an archetype with which we can have a direct experience. We can walk it. It is a metaphor for life's journey. It is a symbol that creates a sacred space and place and takes us out of our ego to "That Which Is Within."

Labyrinths and mazes have often been confused. When most people hear of a labyrinth they think of a maze. A labyrinth is not a maze. A maze is like a puzzle to be solved. It has twists, turns, and blind alleys. It is a left brain task that requires logical, sequential, analytical activity to find the correct path into the maze and out.

A labyrinth has only one path. It is unicursal. The way in is the way out. There are no blind alleys. The path leads you on a circuitous path to the center and out again.

A New Hybrid Kid Is In Town – Kalettes

What in the world are Kalettes? That was my initial reaction when I came across an article about this fine, new super food. It combines tastes of two favorite staples I like to have in my kitchen: brussel sprouts and kale. Kalettes were born from traditional hybridization and not genetic modification. I have been looking for and asking my local co-op if they can get Kalettes ever since I read the article about them. You may find them at Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Costco, and some local markets. If not, request that they add Kalettes to their stock. Click here to read more about this wonderful British introduction to the United States.

My Favorites

Take a peek into a few of my current favorite treats, seeds, and series.

Sweet Treats
Sometimes I need to have options for ordering something sweet to be delivered to someone that desires a healthier sweet treat option. This is your go to bakery for that occasion. Num! Click here for more.
Seeds To Grow
This is the perfect time of year to start thinking of your garden and starting your seeds indoors. I am encouraging you to explore the Non-Gmo seed sites to order from. Your family will thank you for it and so will your body! Click here for more.

Humor me!
Ok, so this may not be the norm for me to share an R rated series with you as a favorite but once again I am moved by humor and Ricky Gervais in the series “An Idiot Abroad” makes me laugh so hard I cry. Give it a try some night when you want a good laugh. Take a peek at his website to find where you can watch it, I watched it on Huluplus. Click here for more.
