NEXT MONTH

In March we’re looking at the Pioneer archetype.

Symbolic Living Through the Lens of an Archetype

In case you are new to this newsletter, here is a short description of how archetypes work in our lives ...

If we are to break down the work of viewing your life from a symbolic state, there are a few things to consider.  First, there is an energy body that surrounds you called chakras (for more definition in detail please visit http://www.kendragoheen.com/chakra.html).  This energy body contains all the data of your biology and your biography.  If you step away and view the body in this way, you will see that this energy manifests in patterns of archetypes that affect your life.

Archetypes are patterns of intelligence – dynamic living forms of energy that are shared in many people’s thoughts and emotions across cultures and countries.  These patterns, often ancient in origin, populate our minds and lives in ways that affect us deeply.

Each archetypal energy pattern is linked to a characteristic that shows up in crucial behaviors and relationships and often gives you clues to your life’s mission – a running theme, per se, in your life.

The study and teaching of these patterns have become a passion of mine, and I’ve realized that my Teacher archetype plays a significant role in bringing you one archetype a month to explore in your own lives.

Footprints Prayer

One night I had a dream...I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.

For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; One belonged to me, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before us, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life, There was only one set of footprints.

I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, You would walk with me all the way; But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, There is only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why in times when I needed you the most, you should leave me. The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child. I love you, and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you."

Note about the picture above: The picture shows many footprints and I especially like that because it represents for me that we ARE all ONE in this together

ISSUE TWENTY
February 2014

Greetings <<First Name>>!

When I think about God, I absolutely light up like a Christmas tree with excitement and with great humility.  He is my Father.  By now, if you have been reading these newsletters for some time, you are aware of my relationship with Him and how that came to be; so, I won’t go into the story again. But I will share a beautiful story about God that resonates with me: The Little Soul and the Earth: I’m Somebody! by Neale Donald Walsch.

Neale Donald Walsch’s writing speaks to so many people that have had the experiences he writes about.  His work speaks to people who are seeking to understand their relationship with their Source.

ONCE UPON A TIME there was a Little Soul who said to God, “I don’t want to leave you."
“Good!” God said with a big smile, “because you don’t ever have to.”
But the Little Soul did not understand, because this was the very day on which the Little Soul was going to be born, and the Little Soul thought that when you are born, you leave Heaven.  In fact, the Little Soul was already standing in line, only a few steps away from the Doorway to Earth.
"Should I be afraid?” the Little Soul asked.
“No, no, no, “ God said, smiling again.  “In fact, this is a day to be happy! This is your birthday!”
“I know,” the Little Soul cried, “but it’s also the day that I’ll be leaving you, and saying goodbye to Heaven, and that makes me sad.”
God gave the Little Soul a big hug.  “I’ll be with you always.  It’s impossible to leave me because I’m with you wherever you go.”

Every day we walk this earth we are sent angels, messengers, and teachers who help us to remember that God is with us.  It is up to us whether we heed the call.   It is necessary for us to become aware and make a conscious choice to align with our spirit, the light, that allows us to become ONE.

This is sacred ground We walk.  This is holy work.  This is The Path.

In light and with love,

THE GOD ARCHETYPE

Symbolic Living Through the Lens of an Archetype

God (Adonis-see also Hero)

Whether a great worldly power or a great physical specimen, the God archetype represents the ultimate in male dominance. On the positive side, a Godcan be benevolent and compassionate, willing to use his powers to help others out of love for humanity. The shadow God easily becomes a dictator or despot, oppressing others with those same powers, or using his physical attractiveness to get what he wants without ever returning the affection he elicits. To claim this archetype among your support circle of twelve, you need to have a lifelong sense of great power, used either selfishly or selflessly.

You may feel a powerful connection to a particular deity, so here are a few from the Roman/Greek pantheon: Jupiter/Zeus: father god, head of the pantheon; Bacchus/ Dionysus: wine and revelry; Mars/ Ares: war; Neptune/Poseidon: the sea; Pluto/ Hades: death and the underworld.

Films: Marlin Brando in The Godfather trilogy.

Religion/Myth: Like the archetype in human manifestation, mythic and religious Gods run the gamut from omniscient, benevolent deities to arbitrary destroyers. In addition to those listed above are Yahweh (Hebrew); Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma, Indra (Hindu); Allah (Muslim); Ra, Osiris, and Ptah (Egyptian); Baal (Canaannite); Marduk and Ishtar (Babylonian); Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca (Aztec); Enlil and Dumuzi (Sumerian); Osun and Olokun (Yoruba); Wakan Tanka (Native American).

(2) The Anatomy of the Symbol of OM

“OM” – The Sacred Sound

Sounding the tone of ”OM” creates a vibrational frequency of harmony in the body. The sound of the “OM” is the sound of creation and symbolizes the infinite. It connects our inner world to the greater outer and beyond, it aligns our energy and creates a feeling of openness and expansion. Traditionally spelled O-M, it is pronounced or toned A-U-M. Allowing the sound of each syllable to vibrate within. This can be done consciously feeling the “A” sound in the heart, The “U” sound in the abdomen and the “M” sound in the head. Any way you do it –The experience is connection , unity and love.

“The ever present OM, is the pulse of the universe and the source of our whole being.”

The meaning of the symbol “OM”

The symbol represents states of consciousness

1–One curve represents the waking state.
2–One curve represents deep sleep or the unconscious.
3–One curve represents the dream state (which lies between waking and deep sleep)
4-The dot represents the absolute state of consciousness which illuminates
all other states of consciousness.
5–The semicircle represents maya (or the veil of illusion.) it separates
the absolute from the other three curves.*

INSPIRED POETRY
 By Yola Dunne

God

What have you become Beloved?
The mind of humanity has drawn
many pictures of you.
Here you are almighty,
there you are many
some adorn you with blame
while others hide in your glory.

Which mask do you prefer Beloved?
Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism
Which face suits you best?
Jainism, muslim, pagan.
Which body gives you strength?
wind, earth, fire and water.
Oh where do you reside dear God?

I have travelled many lands
with a grain of sand in my pocket.
This speck of hope holds the secret of creation I am told.
Then they laugh. They laugh very hard.
"A grain of sand in her pocket!" they shout.
A nervous shockwave fills the soul of humanity -
could it really be that simple?

Alas no.
Beloved we have complicated you so.
Trying to make you in our image,
our thirst for you has poisoned the waters
with blood, greed, vengeance, pride and lust.
So many have fallen and risen in your name.
When will this insanity end?

Now.
It ends now.
God. The one with no face,
no idiom, no personalized fancies.
The one who's rightful place belongs
in humanity's dream of Truth.
Dear God; be who you are.

WISDOM FROM THE CARDS

Auspicious Influences
by Anne Barton

In review of what was presented last month… I shared that in some years of our life we encounter unique and special influences that augment our journey and provide opportunities for leaps in our progression and evolution.  These are called Auspicious Influences.  These influences, shared in December’s issue, can occur multiple times throughout your life:

  • The Fated or Purpose-Finding Years
  • Years of Recognition
  • The Wish Fulfillment Years
  • Millionaire’s Spread/Good Money Cards
  • Years with Blessed Endings

There are other auspicious influences that only happen once in a lifetime (or in some cases twice), and as promised, I’m sharing those this month.  You may note as you read through these descriptions that there is a recurring point made: many of these influences are more evident and even more in your control when you are living consciously.  This means paying attention, listening to your heart, seeing all of your experiences as opportunities for growth, learning and creating a more joyful and fulfilling life.  Perhaps the messages from Whale can help in this regard (see below)!  Any tool that helps you quiet yourself and go within is of value in the process of living consciously…

Age 44 – Pre-birth Year
Age 45 - Rebirth Year

Most of the cards in the deck go through a 45-year cycle that is repeated after we turn 45 and again at age 90. This essentially means that the cards in your birth year are the same in your 45th and 90th year, with a few exceptions. What this means is that at age 44 and 45 we have an opportunity to experience a rebirth, of sorts. The physical process of rebirthing involves a guided experience that includes specific breathing techniques designed to get us in touch with what we went through as we entered this world for the first time. It is quite dramatic and effective, as it offers us an opportunity to reprogram ourselves with more positive thoughts.

This same principle applies to the Pre-birth and Rebirth Years. During the age 44 year, we are back in the womb, metaphorically speaking. We are experiencing our life as a journey through our own Spiritual Spread. Many people find the age 44 year to be very confusing on a mundane level. But the potential for spiritual development and increased self-awareness is great. On one hand, the Pre-birth Year is like being an expectant mother. We are pregnant, in a sense, with a child that is to be ourselves. There is often some sense of confusion or anxiety about an uncertain future, just like the would-be parent who doesn't really have any way of knowing just what her child is going to be like. During the Pre-birth year, you may find that you don't have a clear direction, and there is some uncertainty about your life that causes apprehension in certain areas. But it is a very powerful time to meditate and explore your inner self. The more soul searching we do at age 44, the more powerful and positive will be our Rebirth at age 45.

At age 45 we have, in almost every sense of the word, all of the cards that we were born with. We get a chance to experience who we are and what made us the way we are. In some ways, the experiences at age 45 mirror our experiences during the first year of our life, though few of us can actually remember what happened in that first year. But it was that first year, and actually the first seven years of our life, that molded our character. Here again, we have those same cards all in one year. They present us with an opportunity to remake ourselves. Here we are presented with many of the same kinds of experiences that molded our character earlier in life. But now we are more conscious, more mature, and much more able to translate these experiences into a positive meaning for our life. Just as in a rebirthing process, we can elevate our character by choosing to take a higher path as each of these experiences presents itself to us for reevaluation. If we handle this age 45 year with care, we can use it to alter the course of the rest of our life.

Age 52 - The Critical Year

The Age 52 year is one of great significance. In one manner of speaking, it represents an important decision that is made in our lives - the decision to truly live or not. To truly live means to make choices from that part of us that loves our life and is glad for the opportunity to be here on the planet. The opposite of this is to live our lives always from our fear side, always sacrificing that which would make us happy by doing everything in our power to avoid that which we are afraid of. All of us have fears, and all that separates those who are 'alive' from those who are 'dead' is the ability to face these fears and to make conscious choices in spite of them. It is only those who never question their fear-based decisions that end up in lives that are going nowhere, lives that have little happiness or joy.

A good example of this would be someone whose fear of abandonment in personal relationships causes him to stay with a partner who is abusive in some way. Because the person has such a great fear of being 'left alone,' he will stay with such an abusive partner even though he is not happy or enjoying the relationship. This is an example of making decisions based upon fear instead of love. If we are making our most important choices in life based upon fear and avoiding negative things, we are literally dead even though we may still be breathing.

During this year, you will be given an opportunity to deal with several of the most important fear-based challenges of your life in a very loving and positive way. To a large extent, these challenges are signified by your Environment Card this year. In some way, this card represents one of your most important lifetime challenges; however, because it falls in the Environment position, it is literally given to you as a blessing without effort this year. It will be very easy to deal with the experiences represented by this card and to access it on its most positive and powerful side. You might say that, in an area that you usually have great difficulty, everything will be handed to you on a silver platter. It will come easily and require little effort. Therefore, it can represent the last opportunity in this lifetime to overcome this challenge. It seems to be true that those who do not 'get it' during this year never do. It represents a final and loving call from our soul to rise up and claim our birthright of happiness and joy.

Ascent to the Pinnacle Year

The Ascent to the Pinnacle Year begins a particularly significant five-year cycle of your life. This cycle's effect on you will depend largely on the direction of your life to this point. If you are aware of your personal goals and purpose to a large degree, this year and the next three years together will mark a rising up to a position of accomplishment and recognition. This year will see significant advancements in your career interests, marking the first step up a ladder that culminates in three years when you reach your Pinnacle Year. At that time, you could reach the very top of your profession and end up on a new level of work and attainment. Many people have achieved great goals and dreams during this three-year period. If you are career oriented, this is the time to press forward with any plans to advance yourself. Many people get promoted or in some way recognized for their contributions during this year.

If, on the other hand, you are not so certain about your life's direction or purpose, the next three years will mark a culmination for you of your life as you know it. These next three years will be the last three that you will spend in your current mode of life. What is actually happening is that you are reaping the best that this cycle of life has to offer you right now. Whatever your life direction at this time, the next three years will give you as much as that direction has that is good for you. Allow yourself to enjoy it as much as possible, because it is slowly coming to its fruition and end. Be prepared during the Pinnacle Year to make a big change, to depart from a significant chapter of your life, and to move on to a new and better cycle. You actually have a great deal of power at your disposal. Use it for your best advantage.

The Pinnacle Year

The Pinnacle Year is much like it sounds. We reach the highest point in some way related to our life during this year, often stepping off into an entirely new direction at that time. People have become president of the United States during their Pinnacle Year, while others lost the race during their Pinnacle Year. Another example is of a businessman who had his company reach the highest point possible during that year. In every case, the individual involved reached the final destination of a cycle of his life and in most cases began a new cycle. Those who are career minded usually achieve some amount of fame or recognition this year. Some become notoriously famous.  Just how your Pinnacle Year will play out for you will depend largely on your lifestyle, your direction in life, and in what arena you are playing out the dramas of your life at that time.

Some people reach the Pinnacle Year quite unaware of what is happening in their life, and the year goes by with little or no meaning. But even in their cases, if we examine the circumstances and events of the year, we see the effect of this powerful position playing itself out. At its essence, the Pinnacle Year is one of transformation. Something dies to make way for something new to come in. The reason it is often so dramatic is because of its position in the very top center of the Grand Solar Spread. This position often brings some sort of fame or recognition, whether we like it or not. People notice us and what we are doing. This can result in great success for those who have clear goals, dreams, and direction for their life that include recognition by the public in some way. But sometimes during this year, we don't reach our goals, or we do, but not in the way we planned. George Bush was in his Pinnacle Year when he lost the election to Bill Clinton. Likewise, Bob Dole had just completed his Pinnacle Year when he lost to Clinton. In both these cases, we still see the playing out of the theme of the great ending, which at its essence is what the Pinnacle Year is all about.

The Pinnacle Year comes every forty-five years and many people experience it twice in the course of their lifetime. If you also include the Planetary Ruling Card, a person could experience four or more of these pinnacles before they leave this earth plane.

The Most Blessed Year

This year marks the end of the five-year cycle started by the Ascent to Pinnacle Year. After all of the rising up and transformation associated with those two years, this year seems mild by comparison. However, many good things are possible this year. This position is governed by the most beneficial planet, Jupiter, both vertically and horizontally. It is the wish-fulfilling year of all wish-fulfilling years. I have noted that most people receive that thing that they truly want the most during that year. And many times that gift turns out to be one of the most significant blessings of their life. The gift that is received can be mundane, such as money or a relationship, or it can be a very spiritual thing such as inner transformation or the resolution of a lifelong problem on an emotional level. It makes an interesting study to talk to people about what exactly happened to them during one of these years.

If you have one of these years coming soon, you have a special opportunity. Ask yourself just what it is that would be the greatest gift you could receive now. The chances are good that you will receive it over the course of this year. Be honest with yourself about this. Don't just dream up some big wish for the fun of it. It doesn't work that way. This is something that you want in your heart of hearts - something that will truly bring you happiness and peace of mind. Be open to all possibilities, and see what happens. You are blessed now and nothing can really hurt you. Trust that you can proceed ahead in most any direction you choose, knowing that you are protected by divine forces.

I hope you have taken the opportunity to look up your card!  If not, here is where you will find a chart to help you do that.  Just look up your birthday and you’ll find your Birth Card. (And do it for your friends and family too!)

WISDOM FROM ANIMALS

by Anne Barton

I’ve noticed in recent years that much is being written and spoken about the heart, not the mind, being the true intellectual center of our beings.  Navigating that short space between our brain and our heart can be a long journey!  We have been deeply trained to think our way through life, and this rarely brings true fulfillment and joy.

This month’s animal can help us tap into our heart, that place of true knowing… It’s interesting to me that in the months when we are exploring the Messiah and God archetypes, I was drawn to mammals of the sea: Dolphin last time, and now Whale.  Water is life, and in addition to the breathing technique shared last time and using sound to guide us within (from Whale’s wisdom), I believe we can use water as a tool as well.  The sound of water – a simple fountain on your desk perhaps – can bring a soothing calm to any space.  Drinking plenty of water allows our bodies to maintain a state of health.  Swimming, bathing, immersing ourselves in water washes away the ‘foreign’ energy we gather throughout the day that is blocking the channels that would connect us to our true center.

WHALE/Record Keeper, Transformation through Sound

Key concepts when Whale is present:

  • Find your inner rhythm and personal power.
  • Connect with higher, universal consciousness.
  • Find your origins & destiny coded in DNA.
  • Hold your desire to know close, and Whale will help.
  • Be aware of your psychic and telepathic powers.
  • Learn to use sound to balance and heal your body; open to your own personal sound.

It is said that Whale came to earth from the mystical constellation of Sirius.  On her long migrations, Whale uses the sun, moon, and stars, as well as landmarks on the ocean’s floor, to guide her journey of up to 12,000 miles a year.  Whale communicates with a mysterious language of sounds, and this ‘song’ evolves and changes throughout a lifetime.  If Whale crosses your path, you are being guided to find a way to use sound to support your life and evolution.  The drumming of a Shaman, the chanting of Buddhist monks, a singing choir … these are all examples of the power of sound to help us go deeper and connect with our heart song.  The drum is the universal heartbeat and aligns all beings heart to heart.

If you have Whale medicine, you are likely clairaudient, an ability that taps into sounds from other planes.  Whale’s wisdom tells us that rhythm, vibration, and frequency can balance our emotional bodies and heal our physical forms.  Sit still and listen.

Something that is unique about humans in the animal kingdom is that they don’t have their own call.  In modern times, we rarely use our voice except to talk.  Using sound to release tension, grief, or anger has been stifled for fear that we will be looked at as ‘mad.’  Whale reminds us of the value of finding our own voice and sound – a cry of triumph, a song of joy, a scream to release tension.  We can look to other animals for guidance; their sounds are powerful and significant.

Whale is very much like a swimming library.  Whale carries the history of Mother Earth and is said to have been placed here by the Ancients.  Whale medicine people are coded in their DNA to understand that sound frequencies can bring up records in the memories of ancient knowledge. They are usually also psychically developed and fairly telepathic.

You hold all of the answers you need to survive, to grow, and to claim the power of your chosen destiny.  If you are having trouble connecting with your knowing, Whale counsels that you must desire to know.  If you are dealing with a lot of chatter in your head, you may need to use other sounds to enter the silence.  The drum or rattle, the Indian flute, or the sounds of nature may help.

CONSCIOUS EATING

This month's recipe from Alexandra Topp

Easy Salmon with Dill Sauce

Ingredients:

  1. 1 lb of salmon (4 filets)
  2. 1 lemon
  3. 1/4 cup white wine
  4. 1/4 cup water

Store- prepared dill sauce (typically found in deli area)

Instructions:

  1. Cut lemon into thin slices and lay flat on the bottom of a glass baking dish.
  2. Pour wine and water into bottom of dish.
  3. Take salmon filets and lay over lemons. I take the skin off of each filet prior to doing this.
  4. Then place about 1 tablespoon of dill sauce on each filet and spread over fish evenly.
  5. Cover dish with tin foil.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.

I like to prepare this in the morning and store in the fridge until I am ready to bake for dinner. You could try and make your own dill sauce at home but I love the convenience and taste of the pre-made sauce during a busy week!
