Process Control currently has a special six element continuous blender which has been produced and shipped to one of our OEM customers. Three hoppers on the blender are for powder material and the other three are fed with regrind or pellets. The powder feeders are installed on a slide base that can be easily removed for cleaning purposes.
There is also a separate base for feeding powders to a side feeder. The small base for the single powder feeder has a turnable upper plate so that the feeder can be set to both of the side feeders on the extruder. This blender is made for a R&D department from a big worldwide operating plastic and chemical company in the Netherlands The system is used on a twin screw extruder line. For extremely small extruder rates with a high number of different ingredients PROCESS CONTROL GmbH has made a new control concept for twin screw extruders The new development has been made with a six element Guardian Blender in combination with an auger feeder and throughput control for feeding to a twin screw extruder.
The target is havening recipes with very low amounts of additives and in the same moment very low extruder throughputs. This application is often need and cannot be fulfilled with a continuous blender with the same accuracy. This because the continuous blender has to deliver so small rates for the Additives and Master batches that this is not possible based on the physically values An Extruder rate of e.g. 3 kg/h needs in this case one additive with a content of only 0,3 %. These are only 9 gram per hour.
So a small value cannot be reached with a continuous blender, because this unit has to deliver a rate of only 0,025 gram per second. The Guardian batch blender is doing a small batch of about 666g and for this is an additive amount of 2 grams needed. This is possible with a Guardian batch blender type WXA012 For additional information watch our web pages or email us here
M100 Film Grinder
