Near Northwest Area Plan Roundtable Discussions

The Near NW Area Planning team invites you to weigh in on draft vision statements, key issues and opportunities, and start to think about initial recommendations. Your input will help craft the community's shared vision. There will be multiple ways to get involved:

A series of topic-focused virtual discussion start in March
An online survey coming to the website soon
In-person conversations with planners and community members later this spring

March 8 - Health and Environment
The discussion will focus on improving residents' access and connections to healthy foods and community resources.

March 15 - Industrial Areas
The discussion will focus on opportunities to preserve industrial land and jobs, while establishing a future mixed-used center.

March 16 - Design and Preservation
The discussion will focus on improving design quality in both residential and commercial/ mixed-use areas and identifying preservation opportunities/tools for the neighborhood.

March 17 - Complete and Green Streets
The discussion will focus on developing a future network of complete/green streets and identifying different priority modes for these streets.

March 23 - Affordable Housing and Wealth Building
Discussion will focus on how to preserve and stabilize existing affordable housing options and explore additional tools that support wealth-building and allow residents to stay in place.

Updates at North High School

After 7 years at the helm, Scott Wolf will be stepping down as principal at North High School at the end of the school year. Thank you, Scott, for your leadership and community engagement.

Spring sports include: Boys Swim/Dive, Girls Golf, Baseball, Girls Soccer, Track & Field, Boys and Girls Lacrosse, Girls Tennis and Ultimate Frisbee (club sport). Come check out a game and cheer for the Vikings! Sports calendar here.
