DCMP Videos Aligned With Common Core and State Standards

map of the united states and logo for edgate correlation services.
DCMP members can now browse and search for videos based on state and national educational standards. DCMP uses EdGate Correlation Services to ensure that state K-12 standards are accurate and up-to-date.

Our Standards feature is currently in beta. About 70% of our collection has been correlated so far, and we will continue to add data as we receive it. We need your feedback to help us improve the experience. You will find links to the feedback form while you're browsing the Standards.

Standards include:
  • Common Core
  • State Standards
  • Next Generation Science Standards
  • National Curriculum Standards for Social Studies
  • K-12 ASL Content Standards

State standards information appears in each video's Media Details, and will default to the state in which your DCMP account is registered. In this example, How the Earth Was Made: Sahara meets 32 standards for South Carolina.

Clicking "Meets 32 for SC" takes you to a listing of the specific standards met. You'll also find a link to "Other videos meeting this standard," which displays all other DCMP videos meeting that standard for state, grade level, and subject.

There is another path to the standards. Select the "Browse" button (always found at the top of DCMP's website), and beneath the "Browse Topics" heading you'll find a link to "Switch to Browse by Standards." Selecting this will take you to a page where you can choose your state/organization standard, subject area, and grade level.

Wonder Women lesson guide.Lesson guides are variously labeled as "Educator's Guide," "Student Activity," "Teacher's Guide," or "Lesson Plan." While not all videos have a lesson guide, many do.
