In the past week, the Arizona Department of Education has sent out three major communications meant to clarify the end-of year (EOY) SAIS-to-AzEDS transition process, as well as to offer support for a successful adoption of AzEDS in FY17. Two letters, one addressing the end-of-year process and the other beginning-of-year process went out to LEAs, while a letter to vendors summarizing both processes was also sent out.
With the end of FY16 fast approaching, this current letter is meant to remind LEAs to please follow the steps and dates outlined within those letters last week. It is critical that LEAs work closely with their vendors through July 29, which is the final day for SAIS submissions for FY16.
Vendors will also prove vital in helping LEAs set up their student information systems properly for submitting to FY17 data to AzEDS. July 1 still marks the beginning of the year for FY17 submissions in AzEDS.
