Breakout Sessions

There will be three rounds of breakout sessions. The sessions will be twenty minutes with breaks in between. Sessions that are denoted with an asterisk * will only be offered once.
  • Give Me Ten: Developing Your Alumni Program of Activities - National FFA Alumni President Ron Lynch will walk participants through the new "Give Me Ten" program. Whether you are a new chapter, have a new teacher, or are an established affiliate, this program will help you work with your ag teacher to leverage the strengths of your alumni and meet the needs of your FFA chapter.
  • Building a Community That Gives - In this session, led by IAA Foundation Director Susan Moore, gain a broader perspective of philanthropic development. Fundraising isn’t your favorite thing? That’s okay! Determine the strengths you bring to the table to help build a stronger giving community!
  • Communicating with Your School Board - Hear from a school board member as they share the do's and don't's of talking to the school board and how to effectively advocate for your Agriculture Education program.
  • Foundation Collection Drive Success Story - In this session, led by a chapter that has had great success collecting for the Illinois Foundation FFA, you will hear how they do it and walk away with ideas to take back to your chapter's Foundation collection drive.
  • International Leadership Seminar for State Officers* - The IL FFA Major State Officer team will have just returned from their ILSSO trip to South Africa. In this session, you'll have a chance to hear about their trip and what they learned.
  • Social Media Tips and Tricks* - Are you interested in starting a Facebook page for your alumni affiliate? Or maybe you already have and are looking for tools to make managing your page easier? This session will highlight the basic principles you need to know and free programs that will make engaging on social media a breeze.
  • Alumni Idea Session* - Looking for a fundraising idea? Not sure how to recruit new members? If you're in need of new ideas or have activities to share, join us for this session facilitated by our IL FFA Alumni Council.
