Partner/ Staff Updates

The professionals at VRS continually endeavor to improve themselves and their community - just one more example of the "VRS Difference".  This quarter we highlight a few of our staff who are growing both professionally and personally to better serve the many people who rely on us.

Diane Adams, MSW, CRC, CVRP, can now add CEAS to her professional quiver, having completed the Back School of Atlanta’s intensive Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist program.  Diane passed her final exam and was awarded her designation in January of this year.  She joins fellow VR professionals Coleen Kearon and Terri Schena who also have advanced training and experience in this area.  Diane serves our New Hampshire and Massachusetts markets.  For more information, call Scott or Fred, or call Diane directly at 603.321.3707.

Donna Curtin has been appointed to serve on the Board of the Governor’s Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities (GCEPD).  The mission of the GCEPD is to promote equal employment for all citizens of Vermont by advising the Governor on current issues affecting employment of people with disabilities as well as through partnerships between business, government and people with disabilities.  Curtin’s three year term runs until August 31, 2017.  For more information, visit www.hireus.org.

Libby Hosford-Walsh has been appointed by Governor Duval Patrick as a member of the Advisory Council on Workers’ Compensation for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  Hosford-Walsh was chosen for her “experience and sound judgment” regarding Return-to-Work and Stay-at-Work issues.  Her appointment will be up for renewal on June 25, 2015.  Libby joined VRS this past August and oversees our regional operations.

Wayne Sullivan has been named to the board of the newly created Kids’ Chance of Vermont, a local branch of the national Kid’s Chance program.  Kids’ Chance was founded in Georgia in 1988 and is currently operating in 26 states.  The purpose of the program is to offer college tuition scholarships to the children of injured workers.  Collectively Kids’ Chance has distributed more than $5 million dollars in scholarship funds to over 2,000 deserving recipients.  If you would like to make a donation, please download the attached donation card and forward as instructed.
