Clearwater Communications

The Communications Committee is made up of 5 members within our community who have come together to make communication better in our town. We have made it our mission to make sure that information is sent out to residents in a timely manner. If you have information that you would like to have shared please email us at news.clearwater@gmail.com. All Newsletters will be sent out around the 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month.  Since the Communications Committee is now a part of the Chamber of Commerce you will no longer receive a Chamber Newsletter. This will take its place. You may still email Chamber questions to chamber@sktc.net

2013 Ducky Dash

A fundraiser to help support the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce who’s mission is:  Improving quality of life through business growth and prosperity.  Clearwater is a growing and thriving community because the businesses and individuals work together to make Clearwater a better place to live, work, and play. The race will take place at the Fall Fest on Saturday September 28th, at 2:00 pm. It will be at the City Park, near the shelter houses, in the creek. First place duck will win a $250, last place duck will win $25 gift card, and a random duck will be drawn, and will win a $25 gift card. Ducks may be adopted at SKT, Home Bank, Emprise Bank, City Hall, & Clearwater Family Practice. Also the Chamber of Commerce will have a booth set up at Fall Fest, and will sell ducks as well. Disc Golf Night

Brought to you by the Recreation Commission. Free to all who attend. Bring your own discs or use those that will be provided. This will begin Wednesday October 2nd at 6:30 pm at the Chisholm Trail Disc Golf Course. For more information visit the Recreation Commissions website at www.clearwaterrec.org

Team Karter 1st annual 5K-1mile walk/run

Karter Jay Gardenhire was born on August 16, 2011 with spina bifida. Karter has already overcome obstacles and we know he will face many more as the years come. As Karter's parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblings, we will will support him in any way possible for him to succeed in life. As Karter grows up in the Clearwater community we want him to be a big part of activities that any other child can participate in. We hope you will take part in this 1st annual 5K-1 mile walk/run to help Karter's parents pay for medical and travel expenses. Part of the proceeds from this event will also go to the Ronald McDonald house in Kansas City. The race is Saturday October 5th, 2013. Registration starts at 6:30 am at the Clearwater City Park. Cost is $17 for 1 mile and $20 for 5K except for the day of the race. Prices on the day of the race are $22 for 1 mile and $25 for 5K. For more information click here. Focus on the Future Town Hall Meeting

It that time again! Come join in this community style meeting to hear about changes happening in Clearwater. This next meeting will be Monday September 30th at 7:00 pm. It will take place at the SCKESC which is located at 13939 Diagonal Road Clearwater, KS.We will have reports from the Communication Committee, Industrial/Business Park Committee, Downtown/Retail Committee, and possibly a housing update. The presentation topic will be: Love Notes for Clearwater. This event is open to all residents of all ages. We will also have childcare available for the little ones. Please email news.clearwater@gmail.com if you need childcare and we will make sure we have enough to cover. Childcare is provided by the youth at the Clearwater Methodist Church.

CHS Alumni & Friends Dinner

Alumni, Former Students, Faculty & Friends of Clearwater High School is invited to attend Saturday September 28th, 2013 at 6:30 pm.This will take place at the Clearwater High School Commons 1201 E Ross. Doors open at 5:30 and dinner is served at 6:30. Catered by Hog Wild Pit BBQ. Cost is $12 per person, payable to CHS Alumni Association. (Please include year of CHS graduation and maiden name on checks. Please make your reservations by Tuesday September 24th. Monthly Ladies Lunch

A reminder that the First Baptist Church's monthly Ladies Luncheon takes place on the first Friday of every month. The next one will be Friday September 6th, from 11am - 2pm. This event is open to ALL ladies in the community, not just church members. If you have any questions please contact Trish at 620-584-2058.

Square Dancing Clinic

The Clearwater Senior Community Center is proud to announce that we have brought back Square Dancing! Classes will begin on Wednesday October 2nd at 6:00 pm and will be every Wednesday there after. The first 3 Wednesdays will be free. After that there will be a small fee. Also the class will be closed to new students after the 3rd class. So feel free to come check it out and see what you think.
