Chamber Coffee Social

It is time for the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce monthly coffee social. This month we will be meeting at the Clearwater Village located at 440 N 4th, Thursday, October 9th, at 9:30 am. Join us in the conversation about what is happening with the Chamber.

Library Happenings

Food For Fines Month
Fines on overdue library items may be paid with a nonperishable or unexpired food item. A one dollar credit will be applied to your fines for each item donated. The food will be donated to the local food pantry.
 
Backgammon Social        
1st Tuesday, October 7 @ 10:30 am
Join us as we explore the fun and challenges of the game of back-gammon.  All skill levels are welcome!

Bring your coupons & online deals to share & exchange anytime. Ask staff for the coupon box.
 
Preschool Storytime        
2nd & 4th Tuesdays in October, 14 & 28 @ 10:30 am. Join us for songs, rhymes, finger plays, and crafts.  Designed for ages 2-5; however, all ages are welcome.

Computer Lab        
Thursday, October 16 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Have computer questions? Are you having trouble with your e-mail? Don't know how to cut and paste? Need help with your e-reader, tablet, laptop, or other device you use for reading? Have questions about how to download books from the library? Bring your technology questions and get hands-on help!

All You Can Eat

The entire community is invited to the Clearwater Senior Community Center for the monthly All You Can Eat Biscuits & Gravy event. It will be held on Saturday, October 18th, from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. Cost is $4 for adults, and $2 for children. Come out and enjoy some good food and help support the Community Center.

Community Meeting on the impact of the State Tax Plan

Sponsoring group presents, "The Impacts of Kansas' Changing Tax Policy with Bernie Koch and Annie McKay." 

Tuesday, October 7th, 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm, at the Clearwater Middle School, 140 S 4th.

In 2012 and 2013, Kansas passed the largest tax cuts of any state in the nation. Join us as we take a closer look at the Kansas economic indicators as well as early outcomes from unprecedented tax policy changes and what they mean for the future of the Sunflower State.

CUMC 5th quarter

Friday October 10th will be the CHS homecoming football game and will also be the next 5th quarter!! All middle school kids are invited to join us for lots of food and fun!! Bring your friends and come to the Methodist Church after the game!! All free!! All fun!! Be there!! After the game until 11pm.

First Christian Church presents......

"The Story." The introduction will be October 4th and 5th with book delivery following the worship. "The Beginning" will take place in worship October 11th and 12th. While it's true that each week is self-contained and does not depend on the other, so that you won't be lost if you have to miss a week or two, why would you? This is the most exciting thing we've done in a long time AND by the end of THE STORY, you'll have a much better understanding of the Bible.

Medicare Drug Plan Enrollment Counseling Day

Its almost that time of year again. Medicare Drug Plan Open Enrollment is October 15th through December 7th. Do you need help with comparing your current plan to others? If so make an
appointment to see one of our SHICK trained counselors on Thursday, November 13th, at the Clearwater Senior Center, 921 Janet.
We will take appointments starting at 9am. When you sign up you will receive the form that will need to be filled out and brought with you that day. Call 620-584-2332 to get signed up.

Clearwater Wal-mart Neighborhood Market now hiring

Wal-Mart is now hiring for the new Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in Clearwater. A hiring kiosk is
available in the Goddard Walmart Supercenter at 18631 W. Kellogg Drive.
