A Word In Edgewise

Drainage and Stormwater:
The storm and flooding events over the past several weeks have been devastating to many folks on the south side including Haysville and Clearwater. The volume and frequency of rain deluged some areas. Both storm water and ground water issues have affected many people’s lives and property. For most of my term as Commissioner, there have been nagging issues concerning drainage, large rain events, and projects to mitigate the issues we have from very flat topography and high ground water. In some cases, we have found funding for projects while others have languished because of budgetary restraints or uncooperative property owners. read more

The River’s End is a unique interactive haunted house experience that puts the power in the hands of the player. Participants are sent through in teams of 4-6 each equipped with one 6 shot nerf gun as they try to get from point to point taking down any zombie they see in sight. Ammo will be scattered throughout the facility as players will be forced to stop and reload before continuing. Whereas other haunted houses are only about experiencing one scare after another, The River’s End opens it up for the players to strategize and work together. Players can go through a multitude of times and find that zombies will be in different areas each time they play through. The River’s End is open from Oct. 21-22 & 28-29 Dark to Midnight and Oct. 31 Dark to 10PM. You won’t want to miss this year’s premier post apocalyptic zombie simulation.
