Bounce Back to School

Your child’s academic development is vital to his/her future successes. Identifying the areas that need improvement, and then providing that student with additional learning experiences, is one of many opportunities that our district directs time and resources toward.

“Bounce Back to School” will give K-6 students, who were recommended by their teacher, the opportunity to come to school up to an hour and a half each day to brush up on reading and math skills that may have gotten a little “rusty” over the long summer break.

Handgun Safety Education

On April 2, 2015, the State of Kansas affirmed the Second Amendment and the rights associated by allowing residents legally able to carry a concealed firearm without a permit.  With this right comes great responsibility.  I would like to offer my experience, knowledge, and training to educate those interested in exercising this right in a safe and knowledgeable way. I can provide hands-on learning experience that will take two to three hours of your time.  I will limit class size  to 10 people, for a more attentive experience.

I have over 38 years in law enforcement, 26 ½ years as a Master State Trooper, certified training as a Range Master through the FBI, Hunter Education Instructor since 1978, Certified Armorer, and a competitive handgun shooter at the state level, having won many awards.  I also continue to compete in Wichita area shooting leagues.

Initially, this will be open to women only, both beginners and experienced. I want this to be a forum to ask questions and learn the proper way to safely handle firearms.

If you have thought about joining the many who choose to exercise their Second Amendment rights, please feel free to contact me.

The cost for the class is $25, and includes handout materials and hands-on examination of concealable firearms you might be considering.  Actual range training is an additional $20 per hour, plus the cost of ammunition. Range training is limited to two students per session for more personalized instruction.

References are available upon request.   If you are looking for an instructor for whom patience, safety, and education are paramount, please consider taking my class.  This will be a judgement-free environment where there are no “dumb” questions.
