Seven Steps To Using Social Media for Small Business

Are you ready to grow your audience and learn the best ways to leverage social media for small business? This session will cover the basics of maintaining your space in the social media world, it will also let you know what the heck a #hashtag is?

When: Thursday, September 11th, in place of the Coffee Social
Where: South Central KS Education Service Center
Time:  11:30am-1:00pm
Lunch will be provided.

Farmers Market!

Clearwater Chamber of Commerce Farmer's Market will be every Saturday through the growing season, unless there is a scheduled event at the park. Join us for some home made pies, excellent jellies, custom jewelry, sweetest corn on earth, farm fresh eggs, squash, zucchini, and a host of other goodies. Get there early, the good stuff goes fast! 8:00 a.m. until noon. The Chamber supports local business and events, so be there or be square......... Remember the City Park parking lot!

Ladies Monthly Lunch

A reminder that the First Baptist Church's monthly Ladies Luncheon takes place on the first Friday of every month. The next one will be Friday, September 5, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. This event is open to ALL ladies in the community, not just church members. Notification System Changes for USD 264

Clearwater Schools uses SchoolMessenger notification system to provide timely communications to parents and staff members on matters such as school closures due to weather, attendance, general interest activities, and emergencies. New this year is the ability for you to control what numbers and email addresses you want to receive Clearwater Schools Communications. 
To use this feature:
  • Login to the PowerSchool Parent Portal (
  • Click the "SchoolMessenger" link.
  • If you have any messages they will be displayed.
  • Click the contacts tab, then click edit to modify your childs contact information.
The changes you may make will only effect the SchoolMessenger system. You will still need to report any changes to your childs school. 
Another way we will be using SchoolMessenger more is by sending SMS text alerts to your mobile device. You will need to opt in to receive messages. For more information click here.

New Business Ribbon Cutting

Please join the Clearwater Chamber on Tuesday, August 19th, at noon, as we welcome the newest business to town, The First & Last Bar. We will have a ribbon-cutting and presentation of their first dollar at this event. This event is open to all who would like to attend. 

Proverbs Women's Brunch

Saturday, October 4th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 306 E Ross.
Come and enjoy a lovely morning meant just for you...and your friends! We will enjoy a devotional and some delicious food. The topics we will be covering are "A button or a loan?" and "You did that...with that?!" To top off the morning, we will be doing our plant exchange. Alumni & Friends Dinner

Alumni, former students, faculty and friends of CHS are invited to attend the 2014 Alumni Dinner, Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Clearwater High School Commons. The cost is $12 per person, payable to CHS Alumni Association. (Please include year of graduation and maiden name on the check.) Message from Clearwater Police Dept.

Clearwater Police Department will begin strict (No Warnings) enforcement, as in years past, of the school crossings and school speed zones posted at 20 mph during peak periods. Please note that there are restrictions of speed on arterial side streets as well. The safety of those that walk or ride their bicycles to and from school are one of the Police Department's highest priorities as well as the safe travel of those students who are properly licensed to drive. A strong seat belt usage enforcement program will be enforced this year to achieve a safer driving environment. Thank you for your cooperation and compliance.
