CMS Mural

Nearly 90 Clearwater Middle School 7th and 8th grade art students collaborated on a mural in honor of National Arts in Education Week. The mural was created in the style of George Seurat, a French painter, who pioneered the technique of pointillism by painting with dots. The Indian mural was created by using thousands of finger prints in shades of blue. "It was fun because we got to paint in more than one way - not just using a paint brush," said Gage Swafford. Cassidy Terrell said, "It was enjoyable and I like helping on the mural." "It was neat being able to be around everybody, all of us helping work on the same project," reported Elizabeth Youngers. In July of 2010 the US House of Representatives passed a resolution designating the second week of September as "Arts in Education Week."
