The Cultural Medallion honours individuals whose commitment to artistic excellence has shaped Singapore’s arts and culture scene. The Young Artist Award recognises the promising endeavours of artistic practitioners, aged 35 years and below.
 

Recipients of the Cultural Medallion and Young Artist Award will get access to grants of $80,000 and $20,000 respectively, to facilitate their continued efforts in developing their artistic practice and in reaching out to the wider public through their art form.

Nominations for the 2013 Cultural Medallion & Young Artist are now open and will close on 31 March 2013. Please visit http://awa.nac.gov.sg/ for details.


Looking to launch your new books at the Singapore Writers Festival that takes place between 1 – 10 November 2013?

Brand New Books is a platform that gives writers and publishers an opportunity to share new works and showcase some of the literary scene’s best talents.

Open to anyone interested in the field of community arts, Let’s Connect! is a networking session for arts practitioners and community organisations to meet, share ideas and foster collaborations. The first Let’s Connect! this year will happen on 14 March 2013, at the Drama Centre from 6.00pm to 8.30pm.

Come visit us at Pop-Up Noise at Star Vista Mall (Buona Vista) between 1 - 10 March 2013, from 11.00am to 9.00pm. Join us for an afternoon of free music and exciting activities at the NAC-ExxonMobil Concert in the Park on 3 March 2013, Sunday, 4.00pm to 6.30pm, at Pasir Ris Park (D’Lawn, near Car Park E).

This edition of the NAC-ExxonMobil Concert in the Park will feature music performances by Sheikh Haikel and Bloco Singapura. Fringe activities include POPIN’s community craft project ‘Stitch a Leaf’, balloon sculpting and face painting booths. See you there!

NAC is inviting primary and secondary schools, Junior Colleges and the Centralised Institutes to apply for the National Arts Education (NAE) Award 2013. The Award recognises schools/institutions that provide a holistic arts education for their students and have good arts practices and programmes. The NAE Award comprises 3 categories – Spark, Glow and Blaze – which schools can apply for according to their respective stages of arts education development.
