Update: Save the Date: DCN’s All-Hands Meeting 2022 will be held
June 28-June 30!

  • The All Hands Meeting 2022 Planning Committee is finalizing a schedule now— we hope to share it soon!

  • Hot off the press: DCN releases CURATE(D) Workflow, 2.0

    • This new version of the CURATE(D) steps includes:

      • A preamble, that includes information about how to use the CURATE(D) steps, in particular the iterative nature of curation and prompting questions to consider whether data should be shared.

      • Key ethical considerations at each step and accessibility concerns

      • Standardized formatting and more inclusive language, to expand the applicability of the workflow beyond data curators to include data creators.

    • Read the full press release — and compare the new release with the archived version of the CURATE(D) Workflow

    • A huge thanks to the numerous working groups and individual DCN Curators who contributed to this effort.

Resolved Datasets

DCN-309: Coded quotations associated with a qualitative study of stigma related to COVID-19 in Côte d’Ivoire was submitted by Chen Chiu for John Hopkins and curated by Jen Darragh for Duke. Jen reviewed the content (in French!) for potentially identifying information. No issues were found.

DCN-310: The behavior of carboxylated and hydroxylated polythiophene as bioreceptor layer: anti-human IgG and human IgG interaction detection based on organic electrochemical transistors was submitted by Chen Chiu for John Hopkins and curated by Cindy Xuying Xin for Penn State. Thanks to Cindy Xuying’s expertise, the depositor added description for each data file and definition of variables in the README file.

DCN-311: Structure and Density of Silicon Carbide to 1.5 TPa and Implications for Extrasolar Planets was submitted by Neggin Keshavarzian for Princeton and curated by Henrik Spoon for Cornell. Thanks to Henrik’s review, the authors added additional descriptive information to their README file and made the spreadsheets more reusable.
