June was a busy month for the DCN! Our update section is longer than usual— enjoy! 🥳

DCN’s All-Hands Meeting 2022 was held June 28-June 30! Thanks to all of our participants and speakers for another wonderful virtual AHM.

  • Elections for the Curator at Large position close July 1 at 5pm Eastern— All DCN Members are eligible to vote.

  • Welcome new sustaining institution, CU Boulder!

    • We are pleased to announce our newest sustaining member: University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder). During the 21-22 fiscal year, CU Boulder was a beta testing member of the DCN– we are delighted they are able to continue membership at the Sustainer tier effective July 1, 2022.

The DCN Special Interest Groups are taking July off for a summer break— look for information about August meetings in our next newsletter!

DCN-314: Curation on Bioanthropology Dataset: Interspecific Interactions between Sympatric Apes was submitted by Jennifer Moore for WashU and curated by Susan Braxton for Illinois.

DCN-315: Improved Pufa Dataset was submitted by Jennifer Moore for WashU and curated by Yasir Karim for MJFF and Dave Fearon for Johns Hopkins.

DCN-316: Supporting Information for "Mechanism of Methanol Dehydration Catalyzed by Al8O12 Nodes assisted by Linker Amine Groups of the Metal-Organic Framework CAU-1" was submitted by Wanda Marsolek for Minnesota and curated by Cindy Xuying Xin for Penn State and Jonathan Petters for Virginia Tech.

DCN-317: Global Scale Wave Model 2009 (GSWM-09) was submitted by Aditya Ranganath for CU Boulder and curated by Henrik Spoon for Cornell.

DCN-318: DrosophilaFlight was submitted by Sarah Wright for Cornell and curated by Chen Chiu for Johns Hopkins.

Resolved Datasets

DCN-313: Data for Long-lifetime spin excitations near domain walls in 1T-TaS2 was submitted by Hoa Luong for Illinois and curated by Cindy Xuying Xin for Penn State. Thanks to Xuying’s expertise, minimal curation activities were taken, including improving the documentation of the dataset for future reusers.

DCN-316: Supporting Information for "Mechanism of Methanol Dehydration Catalyzed by Al8O12 Nodes assisted by Linker Amine Groups of the Metal-Organic Framework CAU-1" was submitted by Wanda Marsolek for Minnesota and curated by Cindy Xuying Xin for Penn State and Jonathan Petters for Virginia Tech. Thanks to the expertise of both Xuying and Jonathan, minmal curation activities were taken, including improving the documentation, clarifying licenses, and establishing links between the article and affiliated dataset.
