Monthly Reporting

DCN Community — We are incredibly close to our dataset curation goals for this calendar year! Consider submitting a dataset to our shared workflow.

New Submissions

DCN-335: Human challenge study dataset 2015 was submitted by Rachel Woodbrook for Michigan and curated by Sarah Wright for Cornell.

DCN-336: Data deposit of algal growth data and aqueous chemistry data during mineral-hydogel composite treatment for "Mineral-Hydrogel Composites for Mitigating Harmful Algal Bloom and Supplying Phosphorous for Photo-biorefineries" was submitted by Jennifer Moore for Washington University and curated by Cindy Xuying Xin for Penn State.

Resolved Datasets

DCN-308: A Global Catalog of Volcanoes and Shield Fields on Venus was submitted by Jennifer Moore for Washington University and curated by Briana Ezray Wham for Penn State. This dataset was already in good shape, but Briana helped improve the documentation and discoverability of the dataset.

DCN-314: Interspecific Interactions between Sympatric Apes was submitted by Jennifer Moore for Washington University and curated by Susan Braxton for Illinois. With expert guidance from Susan, the researcher made essential changes to their dataset, including creating and significantly improving documentation.

DCN-333: West Nicaragua Upper-plate earthquakes GPS rinex 1.0 was submitted by Cindy Xuying Xin for Penn State and curated by Melinda Kernik for Minnesota. Thanks to Melinda’s expertise, the authors updated data files and improved the dataset documentation, ensuring this dataset will be more reusable.

DCN-335: Human challenge study dataset 2015 was submitted by Rachel Woodbrook for Michigan and curated by Sarah Wright for Cornell. Sarah provided a critical second opinion for Rachel about this potentially sensitive data.

The dataset is embargoed until January 2023— we will share that link when possible!

No new Curator’s Corner this week — but check out this interview with Illinois Curator, Susan Braxton, from April 2021!
