Article Submissions: Every Companion within a Chapter in New York State!

Companions this is to update you on the upcoming Grand Convocation which will start at 8:30 AM on Saturday March 6, 2021.

This year it will be a hybrid meeting, what does this mean?
For the health and safety of the membership, we are limited to 25 physical attendees. Only the companions needed to open the Grand Chapter Session will meet in person prior to the Webinar being broadcast at 8:30 AM.
The rest of the companions will be asked to register for the webinar/voting (the link is listed below) and will be able to join in to watch the hybrid Grand Session, the Zoom link is personal to the individual, please no sharing of the Zoom Webinar link you will receive, otherwise only the first person using that link will be able to attend.
This is currently in progress and may experience a delay in receiving the webinar link.

As it is a webinar, you will be able to view the physical attendees. Your video will not be shared, however, the moderator will control any required voice participation from Companions on the webinar as required. This will be explained during the webinar.

I ask that you register as soon as possible, so if you are a voting member of Grand Chapter you can receive the link for the separate secure voting system being used, should voting attendees need to vote. So please submit your annual return & per Capita to the Grand Secretary's office ASAP, otherwise your Chapter will not be entitled to vote. The registration deadline is Saturday February 20 by noon.

Grand Chapter will be held on March 6th and will be a one-day event.

During the webinar, the business of Grand Chapter will be conducted along with the election. The private installation of the Grand High Priest will follow then the webinar will close. At that point, the Grand Chapter will then be closed. The webinar will reopen for the public installation of the Grand Chapter Officers, this part will be open to all who would like to join in. The Public Installation webinar link will be published closer to the time and Facebook live streaming is planned.

For any issues with registration, contact the Grand Scribe, R∴E∴ Jason Sheridan, email: Text or Call 201-240-9609.

With Fervency and Zeal,
R∴E∴Brian Singer

UPDATE: The RAM Education Assistance application will be available on the Grand Chapter website on 1st of April, 2021.

Companions:  Hope you all had a Happy New Year, and all is well.

There is not much going on due to COVID-19 restrictions, but hopefully with the new vaccine shots that people are receiving, things will look better in a few months.
Royal Arch Masons are resilient, we will make it through this and be better equipped to handle any future obstacles we may face.

The Grand High Priest, M∴E∴ David Raymond has been providing great Leadership at this difficult time, adapting guidance to fit our current situations.

We also have a new member of the Zerubbabel Society, James Finke, he has completed his $1000 dollar donation and has received his Zerubbabel Jewel, Ruby and Diamond Pins.  When his Chapter opens after this COVID-19 pandemic, I will visit his Chapter and personally thank Companion James for his commitment, along with taking pictures to send them along to NYRAM News.

Sackett’s Harbor Chapter is now meeting by Zoom, their HP Dan Lort wishes to keep in touch with the Companions this way during the winter months.

Welcome to February...
I would like to remind the Chapter Leaders in the 12th Capitular District - if you have not already done so, please get your year end reports mailed in to Grand Chapter with a copy emailed to me as soon as possible. These were due at the end of December.

On Thursday, January 21st, 2021, I held a Zoom Meeting for all Royal Arch Companions from the 12th Capitular District. As this has not happened yet at the time of this writing, I can't really comment on the event but I would like to thank all who attended. Zoom meetings are not perfect but it does allow for regular contact between Chapters and their membership during this time of social distancing.

COVID vaccinations have been slow in coming but are happening. If you get an opportunity to be
vaccinated, please don't put it off!

If we haven't already, we shall soon hear details about how the Grand Chapter session in March will operate. It will, of course, be very different than in years past but we will get through it.

As I write this on January 10th, 2021, our country had witnessed the storming of our Nation's Capitol just a few days prior. While I won't go into my impressions of that event here, I will remind our Brethren of this paragraph from the Entered Apprentice Charge:

In the State you are to be a quiet and peaceful citizen, true to your government and just to your country. You are not to countenance disloyalty or rebellion, but are patiently to submit to legal authority, and conform with cheerfulness to the government of the country in which you live.

Companions, please take care of yourselves, families, friends & neighbors. We must persevere through these difficult times together. Peace..

District Deputy Grand High Priest, 12th Capitular District
Grand Chapter State of New York, Royal Arch Masons
R∴E∴ Richard J Powell, DDGHP, welcomed Companions from around the 12th Capitular District for a Zoom meeting on Thursday, January 21st. It was a nice evening that allowed Companions to catch up with each other, share news from their Chapters and hear from the Grand King,
R∴E∴ Brian Singer and Grand High Priest, M∴E∴ David Raymond about Grand Chapter and what to expect for Royal Arch Masonry in the next few months.

Good day Companions!

As we enter this new year of fun filled events please remember to hold July 11th aside for our 200th anniversary celebration at Borio's !! With all of the talk of people out there getting scheduled for or getting vaccinated I have high hopes for this event happening. We are continuing to plan this as we go along. You should have received the trestle board for 2021 by this point, if not please contact our Secretary for a copy. Our next zoom meeting, after this is published,  is going to be February 23rd at 7:30, watch for the link!

I want to thank  RE Chris Heberle for the RAM education programs he has been putting together for us for our meetings. This has proven to be a great way to stay fresh in today's world. Please remember to also read through your parts if you are an officer to keep fresh for when the day does come and we finally are able to open back up again.

Be safe Companions! If there are any Companions/brothers in distress or in need of assistance in any manner, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Central City Riverside Chapter No. 70

We have seen another month go by and the virus is getting worse by the day with more people getting sick and many more dying. I think we were told a few months back it's no big deal it's over and done, to move on, boy would I love to. The good thing is the vaccines are coming, slow but they are coming.
The meeting this month will be for council and I'm not sure if it will happen at this time.  In February, we will be setup a zoom meeting for Royal Arch. We will try to get the information out to the companions that would like to attend. It's good to see our Companion’s faces again even if it's only on screens. I still think we may be able to meet on the level in Chapter and Lodge rooms starting in June.
I don't have much more to pass along at this time. We should be using this time off to be studying our ritual books to keep our minds sharp. So, I will close now with hopes that everyone will stay well and safe

Greetings and Salutations Companions of Charles H. Platt Chapter #247,
The New Year has begun with new hopes and new expectations. At the time of this article’s composition, with almost two weeks into 2021, these hopes and expectations still remain with ever increasing uncertainty. For those who have concerns over unexpected, surprising and distressing current events taking place in our nation, and I may add, in our personal lives as well, I offer this observation using the game of chess as comparison: The “Great I Am" is the consummate chess master. No matter what happens here on earth the “Great I Am" has a countermove for EVERY situation we may unintentionally or rebelliously cause. When His Sovereign purposes are fulfilled and the “game” has concluded He will victoriously declare “Check Mate”. So be strong Companions. Keep in your hearts and put into practice your Faith with Royal Arch ideals and principals.
When this article appears in THE WORD the DDGHP, R∴E∴Rick Powell’s Official Visit, slated for Thursday, January 21 at 7:30 PM, as well as our next chapter's convocation, which will be another virtually Zoomed event scheduled for Wednesday, the 27th of January at 7:30 PM will have taken place. Even-though our Grand High Priest, M∴E∴David Raymond has left to the discretion of individual chapters the decision to meet in person, it is still questionable as to when our chapter will be able to do so in February and beyond. As soon as I receive any authoritative information concerning in-person convocations I will pass it along to my fellow companions immediately.
Since last month’s article publication, the final decision has been made on our Chapter’s 150th Anniversary Commemorative Coin design. As I understand it, the coins will sell for $5 per coin. Kudos and accolades go to our Scribe and Past High Priest  E∴Richard M. Torrey and Brother Mike Toron, owner of Minuteman Press/Masonic Printer for bringing this project from conception to actualization. It is Brother Mike’s company who will produce the coins.
The Anniversary Re-dedication Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Skaneateles Masonic Temple, 13 East Genesee Street, Skaneateles, NY 13152 with a celebratory reception to follow at the Marietta House, 2819 State Route 174, Marietta, NY 13110. The social hour commences at 12:30 PM with the luncheon immediately following at 1:00 PM.
To reserve your place(s) please forward $30 per person attending the luncheon to Charles H. Platt Chapter No. 247, PO Box 174, Skaneateles, NY 13152-0174. If paying by check please make it out to Charles H. Platt Chapter No. 247 with Anniversary Celebration in the memo portion of the check. The reservation deadline is Friday, May 7, 2021. If there are any questions kindly contact  E∴Richard M. Torrey at:
Royal Arch Scholarship applications need to be completed and submitted by April 2021. Please go to the RAM Scholarship page on the Grand Chapter website @ for all the Education Assistance information and to complete the application form.
Take care, Companions. Be safe, warm and dry. Be looking forward to next month’s article submission.

With Fervency and Zeal,
V∴E∴ Brad Foil
