Walking with Jesus on the Path of Love
Sunday we begin a series of messages based on Rev James Harnish's book, A Disciple's Path, Going Deeper in Your Relationship with Christ and the Church.
In everyone of our relationships we play some part in whether we move from stranger to friend to intimate friend. The good news is God is always wanting to grow closer to us- we just need to be open to love God with our whole being - body, mind and spirit and love our neighbor as yourself.
If you would like to follow up the weekly sermon and go deeper, we have two classes available for you to join. Troy and Jill Moser will lead one class and Duane Smith the other. You can purchase the workbook for the class on Amazon or we will have copies available in the Church Office.
My prayer is that each of us will do our part in deepening our relationship with God and each other.

A Disciple’s Path
A Disciples Path is an engaging approach to discipleship from a distinctly Wesleyan (John Wesley is the father of the United Methodist Church) perspective. This worship and preaching series will challenge you to take the next step in discipleship and become a more dynamic, engaged follower of Jesus.
The sermon series combines a Wesleyan understanding of our growth in God’s love and grace with the time-tested practices of spiritual disciplines expressed in the membership vows to uphold the church with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. You will be challenged to develop spiritual practices, discover your unique gifts, and become engaged in ministry that brings transformation in your own life, the lives of others, and the world.
To further help you on this journey of discipleship I encourage you to join one of two ZOOM classes available that follow this series.
In the class you will reflect and discuss the topics found in the Daily Workbook which you can order
(a link to purchase the book and more information can be found HERE).
A Companion Reader offers a brief chapter of additional reading material related to the sermon series.
Weekly topics include:
A Disciple’s Path Defined
Prayers: Prayer and Scripture Meditation
Presence: Corporate Worship and Small-group Community
Gifts: Financial Generosity
Service: Spiritual Gifts and Gifts-based Service
Witness: Invitational Evangelism
This Week's Scripture
A legal expert stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he said, “what must I do to gain eternal life?” Jesus replied, “What is written in the Law? How do you interpret it?” He responded, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.” Jesus said to him, “You have answered correctly.
Do this and you will live.”
