You Will See Him
This Week's Scripture Verse
When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome brought spices so that they could go and anoint Jesus’ dead body.
Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they came to the tomb. They were saying to each other, “Who’s going to roll the stone away from the entrance for us?” When they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away. (And it was a very large stone!) Going into the tomb, they saw a young man in a white robe seated on the right side; and they were startled. But he said to them, “Don’t be alarmed! You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised. He isn’t here. Look, here’s the place where they laid him.
Go, tell his disciples, especially Peter, that he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you.” Overcome with terror and dread, they fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.

We are the Care-givers, and God is the Cure-givers!
The April Communion Offering will go to assist Stephen Ministry which is a Christian care-giving ministry of the Church.
This ministry is for a care receiver who is in a time of grief caused by various reasons to journey though finding hope and healing with assigned care-giver as they interact on a regular basis with confidentiality - which is a key element of this ministry.
Working closely with Pastor Mary, Stephen Ministers are laity-oriented ministry who are trained intensively. They meet regularly to enhance the skills and knowledge in this ministry.
Currently there are 16 Stephen Ministers at GVUMC who are actively involved in this Ministry even during pandemic situation. We are very pleased when we hear reports from Stephen Minsters - resurrection stories from his/her care receivers.
This Communion Offering will be used for the high-cost training Stephen Ministers and resource materials such as books, brochures, and cards.
Your generous offering will be greatly used for the healing of the LIFE!
A New Beginning: A New Adult Class
"Looking Inward at Our Faith"
Growing in our relationship with God is more than just attending worship. Growing in our faith requires us to join in a fellowship to explore and learn together.
When we come back to worship on April 18th we will have time between the services for Adult Education (Spiritual; Development). Our first class will be an eight week introspective look at how we live our faith and build our relationship with God. The class will be taught by Ash Dotson and Paul Hewitt utilizing the NOOMA videos by Rob Bell. This video series is extremely powerful and allows us to learn and look at how we live as a Christian community. Because we are transitioning out of Covid the class will be held between services in the Fellowship Hall.
To insure proper social distancing enrollment will be limited to only 40.
To enroll please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
GVUMC Volunteer Opportunities
We are in need of volunteers to help us with the sanitizing of the rooms used by 3rd party renters. We are asking the renters to spray and wipe all of the surfaces that they touched once their meeting has concluded. However, after their meeting and before the next group meets, we will be sanitizing the rooms with a fogging machine and this is what we need volunteers for.
We are getting ready to plant the final group of trees on our campus. The trees will be arriving very soon and we will need volunteers to help dig the holes and to then plant the trees. This will be done in 3 phases so we can finish this project before it gets too hot.
Also help is needed with spraying and pulling weeds around the Church property.
If you would like to volunteer for either of these projects please call or email the church office and leave your name and contact information.

Refinance of the Church Mortgage:
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I kindly ask you place our church in your prayers over the next several weeks. We are in the process of refinancing our mortgage and although it looks good, until the process is completed nothing is for certain. To give you an update of how beneficial the refinance is to our finances.
**We currently owe for an additional 18 years. With the refinance it will drop to 15 years.
**We will save more than $5,000 per month in payment which equates to $60,000+ annually.
**We currently pay an additional Interest Swap fee every quarter; new loan - no fee.
Savings of thousands annually.
**Interest rate will be cut in half.
**This loan is amortized over 15 years and payable over 15 years.
**We won't be in the position to have to redo the loan every 10 years.
We are applying thru Christian Community Credit Union and they specialize in church loans. Our loan officer has given us the thumbs up, now we just have to get to the other side. If you have any questions kindly call your Church Treasurer, Wanda Shumar at 702-525-1734 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you and God Bless GVUMC!
