Learn about both sides of the Medicinal Marijuana Initiative from an unbiased presenter so that you can make an informed decision when voting on Tuesday, November 4. This non-partisan overview will be presented by Donna Waller, Professor Emerita of Political Science. Ms. Waller is a member of the League of Women Voters of Alachua County, which holds no position on this issue. This event will be held in collaboration with Dr. David Price's State and Local Government class. All students are welcome!

Understanding the Affordable HealthCare Act: What College Students Need to Know

 Board-certified health law attorney Charles Koval talks with students about the Affordable Health Care Act to answer questions about health insurance requirements, deadlines, penalties, where to find help with selecting a health insurance plan, and more. Mr. Koval, a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Vanderbilt University and UF Levin College of Law, joined Dell Graham Law Office in Gainesville in 2013, with more than 20 years of service as hospital in-house counsel, including twelve years of service as Deputy General Counsel for Shands Teaching Hospital and Clinics, Inc. His practice includes representation of physicians and other healthcare providers, business transactions and commercial and residential real estate. Following his presentation, there will be discussions, questions and answers, and food and giveaways. Must be present to win!

Strike Out Hunger in October

Donation boxes and food must be dropped off by Oct. 31 at 2PM in the Administration Building Lobby.
In a combined effort by the Career Service Council, College Senate, and Student Government, Santa Fe College is holding a food drive to benefit the hungry families of Alachua County during the month of October.Food drive boxes will be available throughout the Northwest Campus and the Blount Center. Please donate any non-perishable items you find in your pantry or take advantage of a any BOGO sales.You can also donate canned goods for admission to “Boo at the Zoo” on October 31. All food will be donated to local food pantries or become part of a Thanksgiving basket give away.If you would like your own donation box for your office area or department, please contact Nina Trombi at 352-395-7375 or nina.trombi@sfcollege.edu.
