NCDA welcomes the renewal of NCD Alliance Japan

The Tokyo-based Health and Global Policy Institute will host the Global Forum commemorating the renewal of NCD Alliance Japan on 13 November, with a special address by NCDA's CEO Katie Dain highlighting the importance of meaningfully involving people living with NCDs in the global NCD response.

NCDA welcomes the renewal of the NCD Alliance Japan activities and the efforts of the NCD civil society in Japan to emphasise the voices of the people most affected in the processes for creating and enacting policy.

NCD civil society views on reducing harmful use of alcohol

The WHO Global strategy to reduce the harmful use of alcohol (GAS), agreed by WHO Member States in 2010, sets out measures to the reduce harmful use of alcohol and associated health and social burden. With millions harmed and killed by alcohol every year, the progress and way forward for GAS is under review. NCDA responded to WHO's consultation, drawing insights from members of NCD civil society globally.

Launch of 9th Diabetes Atlas to mark World Diabetes Day

The 9th edition of the Diabetes Atlas will be released by the International Diabetes Federation on World Diabetes Day this Thursday and presented during a webinar on 15 November, 12pm - 1pm CET (register here), focusing on the latest data, analysis and links between diabetes, tobacco, and tuberculosis.
