TEAM DnA Story
Team DnA have joined the American Cancer Society’s DetermiNation and are dedicating their training and New York City Marathon participation to help the American Cancer fight cancer and save lives. Long time running partners, David April and Alexis Zebrowski, formed Team DnA because of their experiences with cancer. David is a kidney cancer survivor and founder of the Fishtown Beer Runners in Philadelphia. Alexis has worked in cancer research, and is a current grad student studying that general topic. Last August while training with Alexis for the NYC Marathon, David was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Alexis immediately went to work finding out everything she could about his diagnosis and helped David understand the nature of his cancer and treatment. Thankfully, doctors were able to remove the tumor, along with his kidney, and he is now cancer free! David and Alexis vowed to rededicate their efforts to complete what they set out to do last year - conquer the NYC Marathon! While they each have many marathons under their belts, this one is personal. Together Alexis and David formed Team DnA to celebrate beating cancer and to raise funds to support cancer research.
We are changing the course of cancer – our team is helping save lives!
