Quarterly Briefing Report shows market moving forward

Based on our latest Quarterly Briefing Report for the first quarter of 2014, the market has shown distinct signs of moving forward that the exceptionally heavy rain in January and February did little to affect overall.  We expect the spring and summer quarters to show continuing, if modest, growth.

Thought Leadership Forum - April Highlights

Our recent Thought Leadership Forum topic 'Is the consumer agenda feeding foodservice strategy' provoked some lively debate and discussion.

A whole wealth of events, behaviours and trends were covered including embracing competition to exploit brands, how foodservice businesses need to evolve and differentiate and changing channel requirements.

Please contact Emma Read for more details and to reserve your place at the next event.

New report points to optimism among operators

This February, we launched Eating Out-Look, a collaboration with JRA Research, which brings together research from consumers and operators to give a rounded view of the eating out market. Early analysis from last quarter reveals increased levels of confidence among chefs and operators. For more information about Eating Out-Look, see the press release

Horizons supports Freefrom Eating Out Awards

With new regulations coming into force this December, providing information about allergens should be higher on the foodservice industry’s agenda than ever before. Horizons believes that ‘freefrom' foods provide an opportunity for operators to appeal to new customers which is why we're adding our support as a partner alongside Sodexo and other industry partners

Launched seven years ago, The FreeFrom Eating Out Awards aim to raise awareness and set a standard of excellence for ‘freefrom’ in food service.

The awards open at the end of May and will be independently judged.  All the winners and shortlisted establishments will be given distinctive logos to use to attract new ‘freefrom’ customers. Entrants will also be given a free manual on catering for allergic customers.
