Fall 2020 Career Workshop Series

We are pleased to announce our Fall 2020 career workshop series. Along with bringing back some old favorites like Job Hunting Lab, Ace The Interview, Meeting Your Handshake Potential, and Resume Building Lab, we are excited to bring new workshops into the lineup!

Be sure to have your students check out:
  • Cracking the Career Code:  Find out what skills employers are looking for from new employees, and how to develop them. We can help you identify and understand the eight career competencies and show you how to put them into action.

  • Design your Life:  Choosing a career path or a major can seem like a daunting task. In this workshop, we’ll start with where you are and begin to define where you would like to go. We’ll take initial stock of your interests, talents, skills, goals, problems you’d like to solve, and then focus on potential future paths.

  • Employment Documents:  A How-to From Cover Letters to Application:  Professional Career Documents can be confusing, and not something everyone knows how to do. In this workshop, we explore documents that are part of the employment process. Join us while we take you through resumes to cover letters, how to fill out an application, and how to write a letter of recommendation. If you have a laptop, please bring it to the workshop.

  • Virtual Career Fair Prep:  The Career Development Center and other departments hold career fairs throughout the year to get you in front of employers. They can be intimidating and scary if you have never participated in one. Register for this workshop and get the most out of your career fair experience! We cover preparation before the fair, what to expect during the event, the basics of networking with employers, and answers to all your questions.

  • Professionalism 101:  We focus on every aspect of being a true professional in the workplace, no matter what industry you choose. Get ready to discover tips for professional dress, the importance of a good work ethic, how to self-advocate, and more!
