MBSE Use Cases, Technical Notes, Models, and Demonstrations

At Intercax, we think of ourselves not just as a software company, but also as an advocate of the MBSE vision and a guide to organizations entering the field. We’re excited about the projects springing up around the world, from government to transportation and aerospace to consumer products. At the same time, we see the challenges in deploying SysML and MBSE, especially the steep learning curve that powerful modeling tools present. We constantly explore new approaches to help users and have been “upping our game” in the following areas.

• Videos - Many of our blog postings now come with short videos, generally three to seven minutes long. These are designed to demonstrate specific MBSE use cases in action and introduce new features of our software tools. • Models – We have published a series of Technical Notes with extended descriptions of SysML model examples in a variety of domains. In addition to the text and screenshots, the website allows one or more versions of the model to be downloaded and reviewed by the reader in their own SysML tool. Our emphasis is on illustrating tactical approaches to common modeling problems rather than creating definitive reference models or templates. Notes on Internet-of-Things and Biomedical/Healthcare models have already been published. More notes on Automotive (hybrid powertrains), Energy (nuclear power plant) and Electronics (LTE-connected phablet) are forthcoming.
