MARBC ANNUAL MEETING REVIEW
Brookdale Baptist in Moorhead proved to be a wonderful host for our MARBC Annual Meeting on September 16-18. Featured speaker Dr. Matt Morrell chalenged us on the theme of "Deliberate Discipleship: The Man in Front Must Take the First Step." Dr. Morrell is pastor of Fourth Baptist Church in Plymouth and president of Central Seminary.
A special women's luncheon and workshop (pictured)was hosted by the church. Mrs. Sandy Capon (Ankeny, IA.) was the speaker. Mrs. Capon serves as Dean of Women at Faith Baptist Bible College.
The two open positions on the Council of Seven were filled by incumbents Jake Heppner (Wadena) and Devin Larsen (Austin). They will serve this year with Greg Stevens (Hibbing), Dwight LaPine (Rochester), Dave Gerhardt (Cambridge), Joe DiVietro (Sauk Centre) and William Lobb (Fergus Falls).
Next year's meeting will be September 21-23, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church in Cambridge. Our speaker will be GARBC Representative Mike Hess.
GRAND CANYON BUS TRIP REVIEW
Twenty-nine passengers had a fantastic time of fellowship and learning on this year's bus trip. Our featured destination was the Grand Canyon which including a first-class round trip train ride
from Williams, AZ. to the Canyon. The train ride featured a gun showdown, "robbery,"musical entertainment, information on the Canyon and refreshments.
The year's trip included a mystery destination
. Guests did not know where or what the venue would be until the arrival. The Tour Director was hoping no one would have a meltdown trying to figure out the details of the stop. But when we reached ground zero it all became NU and CLEAR we would be stopping for a few hours at The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History in Albuquerque, MN.
Other stops on the trip included the Meteor Crater Landmark
(Winslow, AZ., pictured), Eisenhower Presidential Museum
(Abilene, KS.), and The Royal Gorge Bridge
(Canon City, CO.). We even had a few in our group who took the zip line across the canyon! Three noteworthy stops in Colorado Springs included The Garden of the Gods
(pictured), the USA Olympic Training Center
and Focus on the Family
One of the other highlights on our longer trips is the opportunity to fellowship with believers in another location. We were able to visit Charity Baptist Church
of Rio Rancho, NM. The church is led by Pastor Keith Skaggs (pictured). The church welcomed our group as we had a blessed time worshiping together.
Lord willing, next year we are planning on visiting the Ark Encounter
and a few other sites in late October. We would love to have you join us! Look for promotional information sometime this spring.
BASS LAKE CAMPING NEWS
Join us for the "Bass Lake Olympiad: Champions for Christ!" You can expect all sorts of games and contests which will provide a fun time. More importantly, you will learn about becoming a champion for Christ.
RV LOOP COMING SOON!
Our next building project is to build a new RV loop. The RV loop will have full hook-ups on crushed rock pads. This should enable workers to come in their RV thereby freeing up cabin space. It will also help us to recruit workers (builders) who can stay for a longer duration. We are still in need of $32k
to finish this project. Can you help us? If so, please send a gift to Building Fund, MRBC, 39725 225th St., Winnebago, MN. 56098.
We have updated all the dates for next year's camping season. We are in the process of including some new pictures too. Check it out HERE
