Africa Oyé Festival 2019

Taking place in Liverpool's Sefton Park this month, the music and culture of Africa and the Diaspora will once again take centre stage for two free days of fantastic live performances, DJ sets and multi-arts workshops.

The line up includes performances from Horace Andy, BCUC, The Garifuna Collective, OSHUN, Moonlight Benjamin and many more.

Maya Blue Wellness is located underground Titanic Hotel, offering a subterranean sanctuary for both hotel residents and non-residents. Guests have the chance to unwind in the unique thermal suite-hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam, sanarium, experience shower and luxury food baths, as well as in the relaxation area, which is equipped with relaxation beds and a tea garden.

Signature treatments are also available; performed by professional therapists who are highly skilled in the products and treatments on offer.

'Summer on the Dock' launch

One of the UK's most iconic visitor attractions, Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, has announced an exciting and re-shaped events programme, Summer on the Dock.

The programme will see a host of inspiring collaborations taking place at the Dock, each centred on a floating pontoon which will provide a versatile and unique setting for a range of activities covering film, sports, health and wellbeing, along with a new for 2019 food and drink festival.

The summer kicks off with the city's first floating pop-up cinema in association with Independent Liverpool, offering a selection of popular family & nautical themed films like Finding Nemo and Jaws, with day and evening shows from 4th - 10th August.

Physical Fest 2019

Physical Fest is Tmesis Theatre's international 'Physical Theatre' festival. A 6-day festival presenting performances, workshops, a conference and bursaries for the creation of new work. A celebration of the rich variety of local, national and international contemporary physical work, the only festival of its kind in the UK. 

Highlights include Izumi Ashizawa, who incorporates traditional Japanese performance styles and puppetry into her hauntingly beautiful show 'I Cried Because I Had No Shoes Until...', as well as the American sensation of gender trickery and audience immersion, Butt Kapinski who will invite Liverpool audiences to co-star in a choose-your-own-adventure murder mystery.

Seafoam Green return with their full electric band for an intimate show at 81 Renshaw Street in Liverpool.

After years of solo tours, bad record deals and the odd single, Dave O'Grady spent the last 15 years practicing his craft as an apprentice songwriter. The Psych/Folk outfit fronted by the Dublin-born songwriter and produced by Rich Robinson was a result of a chance meeting during studio recordings in Nashville, 2011.

With massive critical aclaim Dave now takes his full electric outfit on the road...

The Cynthia Lennon Story

An exciting new production about the life of Cynthia Lennon will be showcased as The Hope Street Theatre during International Beatle Week.

'This Girl' tells the true story of Cynthia Powell - a shy student from Hoylake who fell in love with a young musician called John when they met at Liverpool Art College in 1957. She became Cynthia Lennon, his wife, and mother of their son, Julian.


This latest production from local playwright, Mike Howl, tells the story of Cynthia Lennon like never before and will offer audiences from across the globe a captivating night of entertainment.
