Liverpool Mental Health Festival

Liverpool Irish Festival

This is the Liverpool Irish Festival's 15th year anniversary, and they are delighted to return to take over the city this October.

Before their 2 night stint at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall for the The Last Waltz, Seafoam Green play a special show at The Vines (the Big House) on Oct 20th in association with Liverpool Irish Festival; an intimate affair so tickets are limited, get them HERE.

John Moores Painting Prize 2018: Celebrating 60 Years

CALL FOR ENTRIES: Open until 13 November, 2017

The internationally-renowned John Moores Painting Prize is the UK's longest-established painting prize, founded in 1957. Named after the sponsor of the prize, Sir John Moores (1896 – 1993), the competition is entered and judged anonymously and open to all UK-based artists working with paint.

The competition culminates in an exhibition held at the Walker Art Gallery every two years, and 2018 will mark the art prize’s 60th anniversary and its 30th exhibition, having championed contemporary British painting for over two decades longer than any other art prize of its scale.

The La’s 1987’ - Rarities Album Release & Liverpool Exhibition

Legendary Liverpool record company The Viper Label and RedHouse Originals Gallery present an exhibition of rare and unseen photographs documenting the first tour by The La’s.

The exhibition coincides with the release of ‘The La’s 1987’; a compilation of unreleased studio recordings and live rarities, recorded in Liverpool in 1987.

These rare photographs were taken by friend of the band Jake Summerton, and recently re-discovered - having been being lost and found many times, before eventually turning up at Jake’s son’s house in Wales.

The Museum of Liverpool will mark the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Sexual Offences Act with a powerful exhibition exploring stories from the city’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT+) community from 1967 – 2017.

Tales From The City, opening on Friday 13 October, brings together – for the first time – often hidden voices, personal items, shared memories and official documents that reflect how the lives and experiences of Liverpool’s LGBT+ community have changed during the last five decades.
