One of the most widely read and distributed journals in its field, Environment and Urbanization (E&U) provides researchers, NGO staff and professionals in Africa, Asia and Latin America with the chance to write about their work, present their ideas and debate on issues about human settlements and the environment. This twice-yearly journal is one of the world`s most highly ranked environmental and urban studies journals and is produced by the Human Settlements Group at IIED and published by Sage publications.
Chinese views of African forests: Evidence and perception of China-Africa links that impact the governance of forests and livelihoods
Through literature review and interviews with a sample of stakeholders, this report offers a range of Chinese perceptions on China’s involvement in African forestry.
A newly established International Network of Mountain Indigenous Peoples has released a declaration that calls on governments to support adaptation based on traditional knowledge which is specific to local contexts, support indigenous agricultural traditions that provide important food crops for global food security, and respect the indigenous world views and cultural and spiritual values that underpin these. The network was formed to exchange knowledge and seeds for adaptation in mountain ecosystems, given their particular vulnerability to climate change impacts.
