Ashton's Pride Report
#MyGayPride report: Gay Days' Riptide event started out cold & wet - with evening storms but heated up fast! My first venture to the event proved I should return. Queens Pride in Jackson Heights (above) lived up to its wild, fun and diverse rep - for bars, Evolution or Music Box is worth the early $5 cover; Friends Tavern (no cover) is unsafely jam packed. Next up: Brooklyn & EuroPride in Latvia.
Gay Italy Tour
Join Oscar Wilde Tours' Italy trip and get a $400 discount! Learn about Italy's LGBT history, (super gay) artistic heritage and fab cuisine. Led by historian Dr. Andrew Lear, with local guides from Quiiky, Italy's only LGBT travel agency. Mention "Gayography" for the $400 discount.
Why we have pride.
Will you celebrate Pride this weekend? Whether you're lounging on Hilton Beach in Tel Aviv, scaling monuments in DC, feeling preppy in Boston's Common, ringing the liberty bell in Philly, walking with stars in LA, finding a daddy in Key West or mounting the Acropolis in Athens - you'll enjoy celebrating being who you are -- just remember that around the world celebrating being you is still a crime - if not a fight.
